Anyway...I found out that you can actually buy and download the game from a site called Gametap. (( http://www.gametap.com/ )) Now I haven't tried this myself and it is a little complicated because you have to sign up for subscription that costs 10$ per month. What would be nifty of course would be to download NWN1 (and NWN2 if you really must) and then cancel the subscription.
Not to be a wet blanket because it does seem like a plausible strategy...
But check out
the specsMinimum of broadband and no guarantee all games will run with 64-bit systems.
Besides that, assuming they sponser the installation through their own server, I'm betting customizations like CEP & PRC will not be integrated, which will limit much of the on-line experience.
Like you, I haven't a clue as to how they ACTUALLY provide their game service. Even the prices for ownership seem pretty steep compared to what you can get on eBay, Amazon, Best Buy, etc. Though as you've noticed, NWN is conspicuously missing from the list of offerings.
Am wondering what Atari's interaction has been with this vendor.
