Drizzt has done more harm than good. Hate that damn elf. The Drow should be like demons...just evil to thier core. It is like that dang Battlerager dwarf and now it seems every dang dwarf on every server is dirty and smelly. Ummm...no they are not all idiots. Stouts are Master Craftsmen. Not drunken Manchester United Fans. Frak.

Oh and while I am on my soapbox...Raistlin was a cool character. Not every mage is the same. Play a friggin' simple human fighter once in a while.

And Gnomes.....they are not just the Realms version of Kender nor are Hins.

Sorry...ending my rant so I can go play my totally orginal blonde elf priestess who sleeps with everything that moves and giggles alot...''

I like the Drizzt books, and a lot of the other Salvatore stuff too. To each their own. '<img'>

JFK

ps If folks are emulating characters from books in NWN, at least they're emulating a character and not simply Roll playing. Rather than gripe, it'd be better to show 'em another way to play a dwarf (or drow). Might be all they need to break away from their first baby steps into RP and develop their own characters, which is, in essence, what RAS has done.

I agree actually Frith and that is the thing. Too many folks make PCs with this build or what not in mind. I remember an elf named Vind who just let his RP dictate how he went on a PW. It was nice. He was not the most powerful build but I would dare say he was one of the best.

Sorry for Highjacking the thread and did not mean it to but it is something that always bothered me about RAS and sometimes his characters became too predictable. It was one of things I liked about Weis and Hickman in that they seemed to make thier characters coem to life. Heck I cried when Sturm died.

I will say though that RAS seems to have gotten better as he went along. Think he created the goblion Nojheim? Thatwas an excellent story and one of his best imho. His villians always rocked more to me than his heros in RAS books as they always seemed more...real I guess.
