I think they post about PWs there because that was the only known function of "G&R" on the old boards and it's sounds like home to them. We currently have two forums that seem to serve the same function and even though you rightfully pointed out there's a new PW forum, we have not officially settled yet which is the "right" one to advertise your PW in. Some post PW advertisements there, some here, and people who want to make a new post about PWs will notice that and be forced to pick one side at random or based on the number of posts or the decision of people they know. So far no side can rightfully claim their choice is the only legit one. That's what I'd call confusion. What's perfectly clear to one might not be the same to another.

The ability to change one's SubNetwork when editing a profile to something other than Dragon Age. Profile - Edit Profile Information

This feature will show all activity for that particular network when you return to the social site, so you only see that group's activity.

Currently, there is no option for Neverwinter Nights or even the new Mass Effect 2.

While changing a Pic file from one to another is easy, I think that the website the company uses for its forums, should in fact allow for the file extentions its products actualy use. If I want to upload a screenshot from a NWN game, why do I have to change its file extention to show it in the NWN forums!?! Seems like the forums don't respect the game their about.  Just an opinion sure.

I think it's because the forum does not handle TGA, so you have to convert it to a more appropriate and forum friendly format.

TGA is a non-standard (for the web) image format primarily used in 3d graphics, and more importantly one that can't be handled by browsers - so to facilitate TGA image upload Bioware would have to somehow implement some kind of specialist server side image converter for the format using php or equivalent, which I can't imagine being likely to happen any time soon. Honestly, it seems a minor inconvenience at most, to me, though I realize my background in game art might bias me somewhat.

*cough* incidentally NWShader lets you choose what image format you want NWN screenshots to be saved in *cough*

How about pulling over the old "Joined On" dates from the original boards for those of us who were there?

A small item to be sure, but a good way to keep a sense of long time community.

The options to shape your profile seem a bit limited, especially for a social site. If I'm not mistaken the only field where you can freely write some additional info is "Biography" and even that is cut off after a few lines. Can't post any working links either, just display the link address. Are there any good workarounds? I'd be much more interested in what people do in the NWN community and in the gaming world than what their real life name and biography but it seems for that you can just check general categories that lead to themed groups, not dispay any personalized and explanatory information with links. Of course, you can post links in your signature, but there's no space for explanations there either... This is a bit problematic considering most standardized options cater more to DA etc. than to NWN.

Can't we just go back to the old forum:wub:? ':crying:'':?'
Please?
No avatar I could rely to. No CEP hideout.
No CD keys...
I didn't join today either, but on the 29 Mar 2007.
And I always hated this "Modified less than a minute ago" warning! ''

Sorry, this place ain't my home.
What? Oh, okay, ':wizard:' I wait until it gets better. Fast... ':police:'

I'm not too comfortable with it either but it's getting better by the day. Yesterday there wasn't even a jmlzemaggo here, just figure how we must have felt!

Maybe I'm being a bit thick here (I quite often am '' ) but I don't see any means of pm'ing from within these forums. Actually I haven't figured out to pm here at all yet. Cest la vie.

While we're at it what's the point of a "what's new" that doesn't tell you there are updates to the threads you've subscribed to.

Also what's the point of a "my content/forums" that doesn't link to the forums you're interested in but instead just takes you to the top of the list of all forums.

What's the point of having a fancy text editor that underlines mis-spelled words in red yet when you right click on it the context menu only offers you cut/copy/paste (at least in opera). Actually they could make the editor more opera friendly all-round.

Personal gripe. When are they going to change the French flag to a Canadian one as Canada has 2 official languages, English and French . If they can put the originating countries flags for the for the rest of the language choices why insult the British by not affording us the same curtesy?

Why does making even the most minor edit of your signature lead to the loss of any colour information that you have previously carefully selected?

And why is my carefully selected avatar vertically squashed even when there is plenty of room next to my posts?

That is because the new generation of webb development tools where made by geeks and the users are not supposed to be human...

Well...maybe thats a bit harsh...lets give it some time...hmmm

Click on the user's profile picture that you want to send a message to. When their profile loads, there is an option right under their avatar Send Message. You can also just use the left menu tab.

Messages - Compose New Message.

This only tells you what activity your friends have been making or just in general depending on what Network you are part of or have selected. The default TAB is My Friends. You can tweek what is displayed to you by selecting Filters.

Also what's the point of a "my content/forums" that doesn't link to the forums you're interested in but instead just takes you to the top of the list of all forums.

To view your subscribed threads, use the Jump to: above. Currently it is selected to the default Forum Home. Change it to Subscribed Topics and those threads will be listed.

What are you expecting it to do? I think the purpose of the mis-spelled words is to simply alert you to errors, not fix them for you.

I just got my first PM from a charming lady who likes my profile and is offering to send me pictures when I give her my e-mail address! Never had that happen to me on the old forum! I guess this is what social is all about, right? I'm finally popular and loved by people who don't even know me! Woo-hoo!

And to get back on topic, I learned how to report spam and block people today, those are some useful new functions!
