Flickering Menues
« on: August 30, 2014, 09:09:08 am »

Hello, i have NWN installed on a win 8.1 convertible with intel atom SOC and the menues flicker like crazy or are nearely incisible at all.

I think it has to do with some multilayering and transparency shaders. I realized that when my talk bar flickers (that is the second worst menu) i will get flickering in the other windows as well, whereas if the talkbar is visible, all will be fine. So currently i circle and zoom the view around a lot to find a good position where the view is unharmed before opening a menu and it's playable.

But has anyone experienced this problem before and knows a solution?

I've noticed something similar to this when I switch between NWN and another program on my desktop. I'm not sure of the cause, but I found that switching to windowed mode and back with Alt-Enter seemed to fix it.

thanks for the suggestions. unfortunately this didn't work.

i'm now thinking it might help if i could somehow disable any transparency effects in the menu. does anyone know if such a setting exists somewhere?

I have the same problem, but also a much annoying one: There are certain spots on the game where all light and shadows becomes too dark or too bright, depending on how I turn my camera. Maybe they could be related idk?

I'm on Intel HD integrated btw.
