added base files to my nwn deluxe Arrghh....! how?
« on: June 12, 2014, 08:00:26 pm »

Recently returned to rpg..., got nwn deluxe, Iam pretty green at pc rpg but downloaded some modules. They have files that the nwn on sale today doesn't have! Like Portraits, Music and Talk to name the ones I made myself so far. I put the music in nwm? also. Added portrait and talk and Music files but the game doesn't recognize them when I attempt to load the module. In nwn Deluxe the names are full not .mod, .tlk, etc. same problem when I attempt to save a leto file when I open the save game nothing is changed, when I open the save folder and check properties it shows the time of my leto save...odd...well maybe only because I feel really clueless. Usually the fix is far easier then any attempts I make so...once again Pros...SAVE ME!

               Hi jovhaln,
Music goes within the music folder

They must be in the format of bmu

nwm is the directory for the nwn main campaign. (Single Player)

What leto file are you editing?

When you load a save game, it loads the exact instance of how the game universe was at the time of saving.
Unless you are editing that file in perhaps toolset, then it wont reflect changes to base resources elsewhere.

Are you editing your save game, or the base module?
Editing the base module will probably only result in the new items being available, on a new game.
Editing the save game, will allow you to edit the items that exist within that game.

I had to build a music folder (also portrait and talk) and now nwn doesn't recognize it (them). Leto is leto don't know what else to call it. Its used to change characters in many ways. I opened a save game from a downloaded module gave my character some attribute +'s 3 or 4 nuthin crazy but after saving the changes when I load the module savegame no changes. Thats pretty much it. the tutorials say to do what I did:

If no file exists Create 1

Save all changes before closing leto

When I put stuff from modules I'm installing into the (new) folders I made they are not recognized by my nwn (deluxe edition w/1.69 patch)

Its only when I try modules with files that my 1 disc version doesn't have. Many other modules have installed fine. Thanks in advance and sorry for my lack of correct terminology.
