Missing custom talk table

                I just completed the download from GOG.com, everything went smoothly until after I made my character and tried to start to play(multiplayer server) it told me; "could not load the Module. Missing required custom talk table. "cep23_v1.tlk". I am brainless when it comes to computer lingo, help would be appreciated!

               First, I've read more than once that the v1.69 patch in the GOG version is not sufficient.  You'll need the critical rebuild of v1.69 for the Diamond version at files.bioware.com/neverwinternights/updates/windows/english/NWNEnglish1.69HotUUpdate.exe (if you haven't done so already).

Next, you'll need all the required haks and/or overrides installed for the server you want to join. Typically, they will have a website that describes in detail everything needed.  Apparently you are missing one of the CEP 2.3 files in your installation.  Not sure why so if you did all the above already you'll need to either reinstall or contact the server admin for suggestions (it may be a recognised problem or conflict with the custom resources you have).

TBH, I am just as brainless when it comes to identifying the source of custom content issues except for going step-by-step, checking and verifying everything that was supposed to install actually did and there are no empty files.  It can happen.

               I've done the critical rebuild and it did not work. Still says missing required custom talk table cep23_v1.tlk, which I should add that I do see that file(I think it is a 7Zip) which means it must be in the wrong place, any ideas? Also, I already downloaded the override for the PW I plan to join. I might re-do the entire download tomorrow, but that is really just a major pain in the butt that I am not looking forward to.

               The critical rebuild should no longer be needed for the GoG version. 
The problem  you are having is that CEP is not original content for the game.   It is a Community Expansion Pack  (CEP) of custom content made by the community  and bundled up into one big package.

But be warned, the server you are tring to join may also require other custom content in addidition to the CEP.   No one here can answer what that server requires in order for you to join it.   (Well they might if they knew what server it was)  For additional information on what the server needs you will have to find information fron that servers website.( Assuming they have one.)
