Fedora 17 and NWN Problem
« on: October 23, 2012, 12:56:20 am »

I recently installed Fedora 17 64 bit and am trying to get NWN working. In installed 32 bit libraries and copied my nwn folder from Ubuntu where NWN is working fine.

On Fedora, I can get NWN to come up and get the main menu. I can load some of my saved games, though others will not. The ones I can load only work for a short time, usually until I go to another area and have to load. This is about the same with starting a new game.

Running from a terminal here is what I get:

./nwn: line 16: 10774 Segmentation fault      (core dumped) ./nwmain $@

Anyone know what is going on?

Fedora 17 and NWN Problem

Sorry, I don't know anything about Fedora, never used it. The usual culprits come to mind, though:
- 3D acceleration activated - for 32bit, too, if you are on a 64bit system?
- All needed 32bit libs present and in versions matching your system?
- nwmovies, nwmouse etc. present in your copied nwn folder?

The latter need some special 32bit libs usually not present on 64bit system with multi arch support - best to disable them temporarily.
