Seriously.  Virus protection programs can/will interfere with many standard processess on the machine.  Sometimes it is just an annoying slow-down while in other cases, they will prevent files from being revised as a standard utility procedure.  This type of detrment is not limited to games either.  Our business had to change all its virus utilities because Excel files could not be saved, a staple speadsheet app of the organization.

Some of your choices are:  find a way to at least temporarily disable all virus monitors, uninstall them completely (not recommended),  locate the protection activity schedule and force it to only run while you are asleep, experiment with other virus protection software searching for a compatible one or create a separate "unprotected" partition (or add an unprotected drive) to install and play games.

IMO virus protection only becomes an issue when 1) you install new software and 2) connect to the Internet.  So, if you want to run virus scans while playing via Net, you'll need to find a program that can be customized to allow NWN files to be manipulated by the game engine.   LAN games pose no such problem as long as the connecting machine(s) have been sanitized beforhand.

I'm running out of ideas to help you unfortunately.  '<img'> Perhaps following up on one of the suggestions that you print out the nwconfig.exe text output for the community to inspect.  Something may jump out that may help diagnose this better.

That's what I wanted from the beginning with the error... No error at all shows up. The nwmain.exe process just dies with no notice or such. Just silently dies.

Will try uninstalling... I don't mind getting the antivirus uninstalled for testing purposes. But like I mentioned, I used the very same Antivirus back on my old PC, which had the game running. The only difference between the old antivirus and the new one, was that the one in the new PC is the 64 bits version. The one in the old PC used the 32 bits one.

I'm running out of ideas to help you unfortunately.  '<img'> Perhaps following up on one of the suggestions that you print out the nwconfig.exe text output for the community to inspect.  Something may jump out that may help diagnose this better.

I tried reviewing the common nwn errorlogs (nwnclient.txt and nwlog, or something like that) but no modification was made to them... I'd love to get a way to get any error message from the application itself, so I could ask in - I don't know - Windows boards and more places... Anyway, I'll try to find a way to get the specific error .Don't mind if it's an Hex-based error, I think that's a good step to continue my quest to fix this, lol.

Was the previous PC config also a multi-core processor?

Will definitely try this and check if any message gets logged and post it over here!

Nope, the previous PC was a simple Pentium IV with no multi-core or whatsoever. I can post the detailed specs if needed.

Problem is most likely with the video driver for the ATI card you are using. Furthermore, there are issues running NWN with ATI onboard cards. You are better off using a "real" video card. I prefer nVidia cards, but many people run ATI cards successfully.

I thought so as well. I've read several issues regarding this, but at least they got an error message about it. What makes me curious is that the Aurora Toolset opens up normally and there's no graphic lag or whatsoever. I think I'll be able to get a "real" video card this weekend, so until then I just can randomly try anything else. Thanks for the suggestions!

Add to that, I've also heard of a lot of weird issues from sound drivers, including silent crashes. I'm not sure what the history is concerning NWN and sound driver issues, but I know that's a common source of grief among gamers in general. You may want to add "Update Sound Card Drivers" to your random list.

EDIT:
I found at least one example of sound card drivers preventing NWN from booting:

Nice catch Wyldhunt1, I'd forgotten about that. AFAIK, this was an issue that afflicted RealTek onboard audio among others.

Did you try setting NWN to running on only one core in the nwnplayer.ini file?
It's under [Game Options]
Client CPU Affinity=0

Ok! I finally got some decent error reporting from that one! I'm attaching the error log here: Click to download
Whenever I run the game I get two "events", one with the "Information" title, and another one with the "Error" title. I attached several formats for the "Information" event (In the .rar attached file inside the rar file, lol) and just one for the "Error" event. Apparently it looks like there's an error with the "atioglxx.dll" file on "C:\\Windows\\System32" (I checked over there, and found no file with that name over there)... In any case, I made a quick search on Google for errors with this, and ONLY tested a "dumb" fix suggested: Copy that file to the game folder... Still couldn't make it work. For today, I'm out of time for more testing for this, so I'll research into this tomorrow during work time and try to look for more solutions to errors related to this DLL.

Hey! That's a great recall of a thread! Tried the proposed fix (Setting DisableSound to 0, and tried back with 1 as well)... Also, tried setting it to "SafeMode" in the "Configure" application of the NWN Launcher. Also, someone back mentioned trying "playing" with the values in that configuration. Tried the best of the settings, didn't run. Tried the worst settings, didn't run either. Tried average settings, still no good.

Yep, tried 0, -1 and -2 (Some of my friends with Win 7 Ult x64 recommended me those last values. I was desperate, and gave it a shot) no good either. In any case, It looks like you guys are going to need more information about my specs, or at least information from my nwn.ini and such files. I'll try making some time later, or early tomorrow before I leave for the office to get those files and upload the contents.

Thanks a lot to you guys, seriously all of your ideas help me to continue on my quest to make this game work on my new PC '<img'> ~

Here's a quick reference for you. That's an OpenGL graphics driver error. OGL drivers are generally packaged with your graphics driver.
My recommendation is to update your graphics driver again, or if that fails, try an older version of your graphics driver.
Not every graphics driver version supports every OGL version very well for some reason.
Definitely try updating them first though.
Here's a link to the OGL Wiki:

And another remark from my side: Though I use the linux client, I experienced graphic driver issues as well. The latest ATi (AMD) driver the works correctly with nwn linux is the 11-04 version. After that, all newer versions have OpenGL issues. As there is an OpenGL error on your system, too, I recommend using an older ATi driver, not the latest. ATi and Nvidia both silently dropped OpenGL support for Windows drivers and focused on DirectX instead.

Greetings
Skildron
