Could not connect to Master Server

               I posted this in general discussion but thought it might be better to post in the Technical help forum. I can't connect to the master server. When I log in it says "authenticating" for a while then gives me a message: "Could not connect to Master Server some multiplayer features will be unavailable" From there I can see the servers, but can't seem to access any of them. I know other people have had this problem in the past, but this forums search engine yields nothing. When I do a google search I get some relevant links, which are all nwn.bioware and just dump me onto the Bioware homepage. Very frustrating. Also this game worked fine yesterday but then in the evening I had this problem.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Also some additional info
my game version is 1.69
diamond edition from GoG
ATI radeon 2600 graphics card
My internet is xfinity cable

               oh thanks for the reply, at least i'm not alone. I wonder how widespread the issue is, cause it seems like the servers have people on them.

               If the PW has:
Master Server Authentication Required For Player Login=1
in the nwnplayer.ini players won't be able to log in. That's what was happening with my server anyways as of yesterday. I set it to 0 and can log in again now. Not a great solution, but until bioware gets it functioning properly again I would petition the PW aDMIns to temporarially make that change in their settings.

               There are other issues with the gamespy master server down that create vulnrabilities. i've contacted EA/bioware and was told quote, "neverwinter nights was made by atari so its an atari game and you need to contact them."

this doesn't look very good for the continued group of people who play and enjoy nwn.

This has been an issue for about a month now as documented in this thread.  Unless EA suddenly develops a conscience, I wouldn't get my hopes up too high that anything will change.

               So does this mean that I can't create a proper account and not start my own game?
Because I can join other games that are already on there but when I tried to play the campaign with my friend the game wouldn't show up for either of us and I can't seem to add him as a buddy

I'm trying to do the same thing, won't show in the gamespy list for either of us (but I can see it in my LAN list) so I wonder if it has something to do with the master server being down as well. :/

More than likely you've a firewall or your modem blocking it.

               Insofar as I know, my firewall (ESET) allows it to go through, and my Windows firewall is disabled. How would one go about unblocking it in the modem?
