Ol' good missin texture issue á ka NwN Platinum+Vista
« on: June 24, 2011, 08:08:46 pm »

..so, I had this exact same problem with my own computer at home years ago when I got my Platinum version and I solved it with help of forums, Old forums. But we all know what happened old NwN Bioware forums.. So, here we are again..

I installed NwN+both exp which were included to dvd, to my parents computer which is running with Vista as well, and TA-DAA there's no belts or pelvis in game, only black model without any textures. Game is updated with patch 1.69, patch was downloaded from link someone here added in other topic (couldn't update from launcher)

I also have other problem with Custom Content, I don't know if it's have source of problems than game's own armory: If I use some custom made short CC robes covering up pelvis and belt issue, I lost my right feet armor to blackness, and only few leg models will work, althou my OC can't use CC so I'm stuck with black belts and pelvis when playing that.

In my computer I have Nvidia but seems that there's ATI Radeon HD 2400 in my parents computer...Well, I don't know much of computers anyway so I hope that's the right name of video card '<img'>

Anyway, specs are, (hopefully..not sure if I write all nessesery here, as I said, I don't know much of compters):

-Windows Vista, Home Premium, service back 2
-AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ (2 CPU), 2,6GHz
-2046MB RAM
-DirectX 11
-ATI Radeon HD 2400

There hasn't been any other problems, well movies don't run but that doesn't bother me as much as black belts and pelvis. There's few missing torsos and heads aswell in fan modules but I think it's CEP thingy, in OC all skeletors, I mean skeletons, have black skull. And before anyone will say "try run without CEP", I did, I clean installed game again after first launch with missing textures, without CEP. Still, there's no belts.

And now when I got myself writing, could someone please paste that script what will skip Desther's talk in stables in Prelude, if he escape in the middle of battle, before talking with Fentick? This hasn't happened yet but as we know, I can't find solution from old forums anymore if that happen.

So, I hope that even someone understood what my problem is and how to solve it, English is not my strongest skill especially when need to talk technical stuff '<img'>

Have you tried disabling the "environment mapping on creatures" checkbox? The same thing happened to me, kept me baffled for a long time, but I disabled that and the torso and other parts appeared.

Check you did everything in this guide. You don't mention running the patch on the disk sooooo. http://social.biowar...7/index/3341490

Also ATI catalyst settings can make a big difference. experiment with different ones. And I second the advice with environment mapping, but the correct catalyst setting should fix that. (Sorry can't tell you what the correct catlyst setting is as it seems to differ between machines. My desktop needs a different one to my laptop. Silly ATI. )

Good luck '<img'>

OMG dudes, how simple was that?!! It really worked '<img'> ..I probably should be little bit shamed because I didn't try that first '<img'>

I turned "environment mapping on creatures" off and voilá, belts and pelvises has return. I don't know why I thought it was some bigger-than-world problem what will need at least some patches or something other than just uncheck one little box. haha.

Anyway, thanks guys! Now I could destroy, *ahem* I mean, save Neverwinter without texture issues.
