CD keys gone....

               On an odd feeling I decide to heck my email (something i dont do that often) and find all this malarkey... nothing like spending the entire morning redoing passwords on every account I remember having '> This hacking is getting out of control.

Some people at home call me odd for keeping all my game boxes and manuals. Whos laughing now. Would be funny if it was all a ruse to let them finally drop all ties with NWN1 and 2... "oh well we cant do anything and all your keys are gone, so sad to bad. Why not try this new game!"

               Hmm....

Well, I never received a second e-mail stating CD-KEYs were compromised, so I would say that's a good thing.

               If your game is still installed they are listed in the file called nwncdkey.ini found in your main NWN installation folder.

               Sadly, My computer reset to factory specs and I no longer have the game installed. I tried reinstalling the game...but without the codes.......

               I expirience the same problem. Manual got lost of my NwN 1 CD and now I'm unable to replay this great game because of the cd-keys no longer stored anywhere.

Yeah, CD keys should really be treated as a secure commodity if you value the game.  Nonetheless...

I would email EA/Bioware asking them to either manually send the original keys to the email associated with your handle on the legacy site or else forward a new set to that same address if they feel the original set was compromised somehow during the recent escapades.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that, at least, they still support their former customers.

               I find it irritating that I've lost my original keys. I had 3 sets of original NWN1 keys with both expansions. I've lost 2 sets.

But actually in the uk, you can buy the deluxe edition of NWN1 which includes both expansions for £3. So it's annoying, but replacement keys are so cheap, who cares really.

               Hey Guys,
I'm relieved I'm not the only one with the problem! I wanted to play some modules with nwn the other day, but since I moved last year I don't have my CD Keys anymore (figuring I could always get them online I threw out the manuals...). I am really disappointed in bioware if they don't do anything about this...although I wanted to buy the premium modules, but I guess that's not possible anymore either '>

               Glad I'm not the only one who came here and went "My CD-Key's are where?"  it's also annoying that the little "you own X" icons are missing for these games.

               No offense intended Erbad Gwain, but I don't see your decision to discard your manuals and keys as being in any way their fault. You cannot expect them to handle that responsibility for every person they sell the game to, there are literally millions upon millions of users. It would cost them a fortune for a game they no longer even support. It was made perfectly clear in the docs that you must not lose your keys. All software companies do that. You should not expect Bioware to give you keys they could not possibly determine at this point. IMHO you have no right whatsoever to be dissapointed in them for your own carelessness. That's like throwing a $20 bill in the trashcan then complaining to the treasury that they have the responsibility to replace it for you.

               Yes I have all my original packaging ..My one cousin has the game with the first map which is clothe and not paper.My other cousin has many copies of the game .Different versions.I say many I mean like 20+.

Well, I do - even for really old games like Ultima Underworld or Dune or the original Civilization (all from the late 1980s to early 1990s) - its not that difficult to store these things in a bookshelf.
