The dreaded case of freeze-frame.
« on: April 20, 2011, 05:03:00 am »

Guys, guys (and allegedly, girls)... I know you must be tired of me coming once and again to ask for help with this... but imagine just how frustrating it is for me...

We've discussed the issue in several previous threads, and the thing has been narrowed down quite a lot. So, I'm about 99.9999999999% sure my problem is not related to either Video card, since there have been different brands and models since the trouble began; it's also very likely it isn't a matter of video drivers.

I need to know: When using custom content (haks or override files), do you notice a slight freezing when opening a container, specially when it uses such content? Does it happen even when there is no custom content involved? When an enemy party spawns near you, do you experience the same thing? Furthermore, when you fire a spell for the first time since the beggining of the game, or when there are many enemies on-screen, does the freezing become apparent? It may go from tenths of second to about 2 or 3 seconds...

Now, I have both Modern Warfare games installed, and they run silky smooth. I played Black Ops without any framing, any freezing... hell, the game looked better than  anything and performed perfectly. So... HOW THE &%$· CAN NEVERWINTER NIGHTS STILL BE GIVING ME THIS $·"% AFTER CHANGING THREE VIDEOCARDS, TWO OS's, AND PRACTICALLY CHANGING MY PC's ENTIRELY THRICE???!!!

I have run tests on my NEW Hd, which has more than decent cache speed and capacity. All diagnostic tests say "Hey, man, you can build the Matrix with such a rig, no prob!"

If you've noticed any of the framing, however slightly, please, share your experience, and perhaps a little insight on how you deal with it.

Thank you.
