« on: February 17, 2011, 03:15:44 pm »

Hello there, I tried installing NWN onto my computer two days ago and its been nothing but misery, I got past the "compatability error", but now my game crashes at start up. Yes I have disable the starting videos, CPUAffinity has been tried, I have tried using compatability with XP SP2 (I don't get the option for SP3), and I run it as Admin... Please help, I loved this game on my XP (Before it died >.>).

Game Version: NWN 1  Diamond Edition (Rebuild patch 1.69)
Game Language: English
Retail or Digital: Retail CD / Retail DVD
Processor Manufacturer: Intel
Processor Type: Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU
Processor Speed: 2.1 GHz 2.1 GHz
Operating System / Service Pack: Windows Vista/SP2
System RAM: 4 gigs
Video Card Manufacturer: Intel
Video Card Model: Mobile Intel® 4 series express chipset family
Video Card RAM:  (Aprox Total Memory say: 1759 megs)
Video Card Driver Version: 7.15.0010.1670
Sound Card Manufacturer: Realtek
Sound Card Model: Realtek High Definition Audio

The laptop is a Toshiba A505 if that helps...

Edit- Yes I Installed it in c:\\Neverwinter nights\\NWN\\ not program files. (It was actually the default install location)

I have this problem as well, unfortunatly no one knows how to really solve the problem. The only thing I can say is try the critical rebuild patch, disabling sound in the nwn.ini and/or disabling shinywater. Otherwise I'ev got nothing since I'm having the same problem.

Tip for Wounded24 --> You can't get Shiny water with "Intel Integrated Graphics"

Question: Have you updated "Intel Integrated Graphics" drivers from "MS Windows Update"?

If so you should go to Intel's website to download the drivers as the drivers from Microsoft do
not have support for OpenGL and Neverwinter Nights game is an OpenGL game.

Dual Core E5200 Pentium
Nvidia GeForce 7100
Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit editon
Neverwinter Nights Diamond

Didnt run until I updated to 1.69 and turned off that protective thing ..where a window kept popping up saying not allowed.
