CD-key issues with Hordes of the Underdark "Best of Atari"

               Hello everyone,

I know there are more people with this problem out there so this topic also functions to help them.
I bought a european edition of Hordes of the Underdark and I couldn't get it to work because of CD-key issues. I tried contacting Dutch atari helpdesk: doesn't exist! So I bought a new copy, also from "the best of Atari" series, with the same problem! So I'm stuck with two copies of Hordes of the Underdark that are useless. I tried registering them on the Bioware website, and as it turns out, the CD-keys are for Shadows of Undrentide!
Now with the recent changes on the Atari website I have sent a 'ticket' with all the information: a picture of the two copies with the  CD-keys and my email address and everything.

How long does it take for me to get a reply? I sent my email on tuesday...Do I have a chance that they'll say I have to contact the Dutch atari again because I have a European copy?

So for everyone who has a Best of Atari copy, please check if you can register them as another game (NWN, Shadows of Undrentide or Hordes of the Underdak) this could be your problem!

               I'd simply continue bothering Atari. I think I've heard of the CD key mix-up for HotU before, but I could be wrong. I'd just be wary that it might take them a while to respond.

               They are usually pretty fast (I've read) but with your request being submitted around the holidays I suppose I would expect a longer wait than normal.  

An interesting issue you bring up though in that I always assumed there was a single central contact for all CD-key issues regardless of where it was marketed. IMO I'd give them at least a week and then resubmit if they drag their tail too long. In any event, sry to hear about your problem.  

Any particular reason you haven't opted for the GoG copy?  Are the versions you purchased cheaper than the download?  Or maybe you just prefer physical copies?

               if you're copy or copies have SOU included try using the SOU key for HotU and the HotU ky for SOU.



I think that was the mix up.



Other then that, it could be a typo or misleading character in the key.

               That's what I was remembering, when they did the SoU-HotU keys backwards. Heh. Though I think the OP got SoU working...?

               Well I bought all copies seperate. I already had the original NWN so decided to buy copies of Sou and Hotu. They are seperate copies and the Sou work fine, the CD-keys are correct for those copies.



I have heard of mix-ups before as well. I'll give them some more time. I didn't mention I was Dutch this time or that these copies were European so hopefully they don't even notice.



I could buy the GoG version but I already bought these so why not get some worth for my money?

               Well I had a reply! I expected one through my email but apparently you have to log in on the Atari website to see "my tickets". I had a reply there requesting to send an email to a certain email address. I don't understand why I had to place a ticket too, but alas they find it absolutely necesarry for you to place a ticket and as well email. But after two days I got a reply in my email with two new CD-keys! I'm very glad to hear!

Oh, but I've just tried them out and turns out one of the CD-keys they've given me is for Neverwinter Nights, and not for Hordes of the Underdark. I've contacted them again....
