               Game Version: NWN Diamond (GOG) 1.69 (all expansions, critical rebuild)
Game Language: English
Retail or Digital: GOG
Processor Manufacturer: Intel
Processor Type: Atom N270
Processor Speed: 1,6 GHz
Operating System / Service Pack: Such as WindowsXP Home/SP3
System RAM: 1 GB
Video Card Manufacturer: Intel.
Video Card Model: Intel GMA 950
Video Card RAM: 224 megs
Video Card Driver Version: Intel GMA Mobile 6.14.0010.4926
Sound Card Manufacturer: Several, including Realtek onboard, USB- and Bluetooth- connected, irrelevant to the issue at hand
Sound Card Model: See above
Sound Card Driver Version:
CD/ROM Type: None

Ok, it is Asus Aspire One usually with 1024x600 "onboard" screen and an external (running at 1280x1024@60Hz) monitor attached in a dual-screen config. But it is the same crap when I only use one screen, either.

I cannot make NWN run in windowed mode. Whatsoever. Any ideas?

The game setup (nwconfig) resolution selector proposes alternately sets of 800x600, 1024x600 and 1024x768, *ALWAYS* containing at least one of entries duplicated, and never both of 1024x600 and 1024x768 in the same set.
(can't figure out what is the basis for the change of selection)

In-game resolution setup behaves in the similar manner, except offering ONLY 1024x600 in single-screen config.

All the config is properly done:
(nwn.ini)
[Display Options]
FullScreen=0
AllowWindowedMode=1

Also tried tweaking the following:
(nwn.ini)
[Display Options]
FullScreen=1 (to use Alt-Enter, but it just minimizes the game just as if I switched from full screen to other app)
Width=1024 (setting this and following to different values)
Height=600

(nwconfig.ini)
[Video Card]
Desktop Resolution=1024x600 (setting it to different values)

               Under [Display Options] you need to add "AllowWindowedMode=1" and change the FullScreen to "0."

and make sure you choose a resolution of the "windowed mode to be a step or two smaller than your screen's actual resolution.

               Hm. Quoting myself:

(nwn.ini)
[Display Options]
FullScreen=0
AllowWindowedMode=1

Width=1024 (setting this and following to different values)
Height=600

So yeah, been there.

Edit: ALSO, back on "normal" PC, I had no issues with window resolution being = screen resolution.

               [SOLVED]

Switching the "Output to ->" from  "Notebook + monitor" to "Monitor + notebook" seems to have fixed the issue.

               NECRO'D!

What about getting it to run in a window of a size other than 800x600!? Are there ini lines I can add to set the windowed-mode resolution? I'd like to have it 1920x1024 (HD) on my desktop which is 1920x1200 - this way I can have the time/date showing, damage tracking apps 'overlayed' or pager windows viewable without having to alt-tab.

So you'd just change your height and width as above, just make sure that your windowed reso is smaller than your native desktop reso.  the 1920x1024 should work I think.

               I have nwn.ini showing:

[Display Options]
FullScreen=0
Width=1920
Height=1080
AllowWindowedMode=1
BitsPerPixels=32

It's completely ignored by NWN and goes fullscreen on start, ALT-Enter windows it to an 800x600 window... I'm pretty sure it used to work years ago, possibly pre 1.69.

Edit: Once I switch into windowed mode, then I can switch the resolution up to 1068x1050, and it stays in a window, but any higher than that and it flips to fullscreen. ':unsure:'

               Having issues on this as well.

All the config is properly done:
(nwn.ini)
[Display Options]
FullScreen=0
AllowWindowedMode=1
Width=1600
Height=900
BitsPerPixels=32
RefreshRate=60
TexturePack=3
SafeMovie=0
UseLargeFont=0
Disable Movies=1
Disable Intro Movies=1

Not recognizing the "AllowWindowedMode=1".  Even redownloaded 1.69 update as had a hard format of drive.  Currently my screen size is 1280x768 (17" monitor).  Builders work just fine, just playing.  I like to play in windows mode access to other docs and viewing clock is easier.

Any clues what hell is wrong? '<img'>

               Itty, try setting your width and height to less than or equal to your screen size. Right now, you're trying to open an 1600x900 window on a 1280x768 screen.

               MAKE SURE...

RefreshRate=60

The Above is set to your monitor's Refresh Rate, you don't want to burn your monitor out!  Some monitors may have a different refresh rate, like 59 or so..  Be sure to check the monitor's manual, if you have one, if not, use NVIDIA Control Panel (or ATI's)...

Also remember that, the lower resolution you play the game in, the better Video Performance you will get, ignore this message if you have a quality Dedicated Video Card, those with an IGP (A processor with an integrated graphics processor built on the same die) or a GMA (Integrated Video Controller On the Motherboard) should use the lower resolution to prevent lagg...
