Well obviously a lot of people here ignore former Bioware/NWN website, so I'm posting a link to the old, but still mostly valid
NWN Technical FAQAlso the very 1st thing to do when you have a technical issue, and it is true for any other game, start by doing a
DXdiag testUnder Windows XP and Vista go to Start -> Run -> Type "dxdiag"
Under Seven hit Ctrl + R, and type "dxdiag"
That will start Windows Dxdiag tool. Wait for the lower left green bar to fill up (its collating data).
Now you can check all various pages and see if there is any errors showing.
There's also a series of test you can do to check if everythings is ok.
Now, in the lower right, there is a "Save All Information" button. Click it, and save the "Dxdiag.txt" file on your desktop (or elsewhere). This text file contains a large number of informations about your system hardware and software, and it's safe and recommended to communicate it to a customer support service. They will ask it anyway if your issue isn't obvious (rarely the case), so you may as well attach it to your e-mail to the Tech support.
Here you can copy paste it with your issue description so that tech savyy people can see immediately all the basics they need to know, you will save time.
