cant level character on heavy hack PW. Plz help

               i am running 1.69 and 2.3 cep on a g4 mac. Hotu and SoU are instaled as well.

the PW in question is Myth Drannor, a hack heavy world. I downloaded the hacks 3 times already. I can log in fine, and the PW gives a level at start, this is where it hangs up. I can go thru the process of picking any class, even the first one, picking abil, feats, etc but when it gets to the Summary screen the Ok button clicks but goes nowhere, the screen just stays there. I've tried asking about this in game, but the DM that was kind enough to help me couldn't figure it out, she thought it might be some mac related problem. She was able to start a char and level fine, so the problem appears to be mine.

Has anyone else run into this? I'd love to have an aswer and try out this very promising PW.

               probably a compatibility issue somewhere with haks. Does it do it even if you build a character with a standard class? (one that comes with NWN)

Much like Linux, I am suspecting capitalization will matter. You may need to redo some renaming of haks, though that you can log in then seems confusing.

I am familiar with some of Raamos' haks, just not sure where to point you with no error message to direct you.

Are you running a mac version of NWN, or you running from WINE?

What class are you levelling up?



Try to temporarily suppress override folder (by renaming to _override). I doubt it helps but please for sure...



Do you have this problem in any other module? If not it must be that specific PW haks issue.

               You can't just get rid of overrides for macs Shadoow, it has some necessary files for it to run.

               i am running the mac versioin of NWN on a mac. this happens on a level 1 regular NWN character, have tried it in two classes so far; a fighter will level to 2 but not to 3, barbs cant get past 1. in both instances i am leveling up on the same base class.



i removed all haks except for cep and the necessary mod ones. override folder is clear and i dont know what you mean by supressing but would like to give it a go.

What I'm suspecting is you are missing 2da files or have old versions, or perhaps a 2da is slightly misnamed due to case sensitivity.

No! The Mac version of NWN depends on certain files in the "override" folder not included in other versions, so those instructions do not apply. As well, if you have added files not included in the original Mac install or updates from BioWare, the game may not run as expected. As of NWN version 1.64, it appears that files from the Linux patches are no longer necessary to install non-Mac expansions on the Mac (see also method four under section 3.09).

As of NWN version 1.64, your override folder should include, and only include, the following three files:


load_legal.tga

load_legal2.tga

soundprovider.2da
