No Damage Please
« on: October 20, 2014, 02:04:03 am »

I have finally got around to adding scripts, settings, etc. to a set of monsters that Rolo and I made a while ago and I have come across a little problem. The creatures that I am working on are not supposed to inflict any normal damage at all, only special/magical damage. Is there a setting, that I have missed, in a creature's blueprint that will allow me to do this or do I need to ask in the scripting forum?

Thanks for any help.

If you select the creature's weapon and set it to something like "No Combat Damage" (forget the exact name) then the creature will never do more than 1 physical damage per hit.  I don't know if it's possible to remove that last damage, though, short of doing something like giving every character 1 damage reduction.

Thanks. The creature doesn't actually have a weapon or teeth or claws...  But that is certainly something to explore. I'm actually in the first stage of getting the Bomb Beasts working as close to what I wrote in their bestiary as I can. I'm not averse to scripting but if there is a way that doesn't involve it, I'll take it '<img'> .

Thanks again.

If it's a creature model that hides the weapon, just give it one -- the player won't ever be able to tell.
