Work is being done to put out an update to the CEP. The new Community Expansion Pack wiki has pages where you can make suggestions for additions or overhauls of CEP material, vote on new and/or updated material, and in general let your voice be heard.
Possibly of interest to builders today, I just added a poll (under "Various Polls") on modifying how armor parts are ordered/numbered in the toolset drop-downs. Let me know what you think by voting and/or leaving a comment on that page.
