What is the significance of this file, and what does it do?  I can see when I open it that it deals with tilesets, but am not suere how.  The reason I'm asking is we have added tilesets, and I want to make sure if they need to be represented in that file.

thanks!  '<img'>

That file initializes a new area with the presets in that file based on tileset.

It sets up ambient sounds, music, event scripts etc....

I find it useful to edit this and the environments.2da to streamline work for your builders if you have certain event scripts you want in every area, consistency in the volume of your ambient sounds etc...

Oh...oh my.  That is VERY useful information, and certainly the case, as we have entry/exit/user scripts that apply to every area.

Thank you!  '<img'>

Keep in mind, that the areas are only initialized when you create them. Changing the areg.ini file will not affect existing areas.

Understood, but still useful for future work.  '<img'>  Thanks again for the tip.
