Bloody 10 meter tiles!
« on: August 29, 2011, 08:17:23 pm »

Doesn't anyone else with BioWare had chosen smaller tile sizes, like 1.5m or 5 feet, so that mapping would be easier, specially for interiors, to make smaller rooms and such?

*shrugs* Too late - 10m is a large space tho, and I loathe that it makes even 'tiny' buildings as big or bigger (footprint wise) as a modest modern in-town house. Nothing much one can do though.

Be well. Game on.

Actually there are legitimate reasons that NWN tiles and doors are so big. Back in the old days when the devs were allowed to come onto the boards and schmooze with us this issue came up several times.

Tiles and doors are pretty much as small as they can be without creating collision and pathfinding problems.

nothing stop you from making tiles with more then one room in them. by using the wall crosser you could allow down to a 1/4.

Yup. Same principle as roads and alleys. Just be aware that you may have some collision issues, although the 1.69 patch included a lot of collision improvements.
