Colored UnID Name
« on: August 19, 2011, 12:59:13 am »

So, is there a method of coloring the name that appears before an Item is identified? It would be handy to distinguish a "Long Sword of Sparks" from a "Unique Sword of Disembowlment" in the hack-n-slash mod I'm making.

I do not think you can change the unidentified names for an item.  at least not without changing all of the names for that base item type.   The problem here is that the name is taken from the talk file. So you would have to change all of them for that base item or non of them.   even them if you are playing multi player you would need to distrubet the talk table and edited 2da files.

exactly

However, it could be workarounded with special unidentified system aka BGII where the item itself is identified in term of NWN mechanics but has no properties unless you truly identify it via spell or custom feat (using custom skill) etc. Then it would have changed name and new properties.

I was planning to make such identified system so if nothing ike this isnt at vault already and you like it, I can share.
