An invisible walkmesh/tile in any tileset?  I'm looking to have an invisible bridge and can't find a good way to do it.

Any help appreciated.

Hmmm.  Don't see it, and yes I did look.  '<img'>

And even if I did, I'm looking to make an invisible bridge over water.

There currently is not such a set of tiles available.

However, it should be fairly easy to "create" by just copying and renaming the normal bridge tiles, then deleting the objects of the bridge itself that have textures assigned.  Leaving everything else alone.  Don't forget to rename the internal sections of the tiles AND to add the new named tiles to the .set file, and to your hak.

If you do it properly, you can have them be variants of any bridge type terrain, so that when you paint a bridge, it will sometimes paint an empty section, still walkable, or paint the full bridge section.

Then you can just keep changing them when building until you get what you are looking for.

Water Placeables and such can let you do some crazy things as well besides doing a hak if you wish. We use the aforementioned barrows interior as a exterior in one spot with the invisible bridge over water.

And in another place we created "wooden" bridges with the use of the raft placeables. There is tons of creative thingys you can do from making a water wheel by hiding a wagon wheel to so many strange and wonderful things.

I looked at everything in the Barrows Interior set and did not see anything "invisible".  Clues anyone?

Its not labelled bridge. Its part of that large group with the weird white spots over the pit that you can turn off.

Interesting, but that's not going to cut it this time.  I'm looking to have just an area of water with an invisible bridge that I can line with light.  Perhaps in a year or so I can learn how to do models and textures and stuff and make it then.  '<img'>

Thanks for the help.  At least I know it can be done.

Put a water placeable down, then put down a bunch of the vfx appearences from the cep of the light barriers and viola instant simulated bridge, lol...

Other solutions were already given to you in the thread as well that are exactly what you are looking for.

Name the tileset you want it in and give me a few days to lazy around in, and I'll happily put a hak together for you to achieve this.

(What? I'm bored is all.)

Since this came up, I thought I'd mention that the use of invisible walkmeshes is something that Estelindis and I have investigated with a great deal of success in developing the flying areas for Sanctum of the Archmage 3. We collaborated on the design, which was tailored to the story's need for mixed flying and walking areas for certain scenes, supporting takeoffs, landings, aerial combat, and flying travel,  especially involving the module's ridable Pegasi. Este then refined the design and built it as wonderful custom tileset for the series. For anyone interested, here are some screenshots and video clips:

Este would be better able to speak to the implementation details and difficulty, but based on our correspondence that was my impression as well.

Should be pretty easy - assuming I understand you correctly. You are basically looking for a bridge that functions like the normal bridges in various tilesets, but is invisible?

Export the bridge tiles then open them with 3ds or Gmax. Select all the bridge parts and uncheck "Render" (if you want a ghostly bridge - alter the "Alpha" setting instead). You might also want to uncheck "Shadow". Export the model.

If you want to have the invisible bridge be available along with the regular bridges, rename the tiles and duplicate the SET file entires for them. You could also create a new crosser for your invisible bridge.
