CEP Files Compatibility
« on: February 18, 2011, 03:41:19 am »

               Hello all,

I am in the process of making a small update to Sunjammers TileMagic system; basically making more tiles available by adding entries to the visualeffects.2da, and adding a few custom tiles, cut mostly from Gaonengs work (as he provided nice blank City and Castle Interiors), and a few edits to Bioware tiles removing pokey bits, so as to have more simple floors and walls.

I was talking with Sunjammer, and I mentioned that I had padded the 2da for Bioware reserved space, and he suggested that in addition I should pad for CEP compatibility as well.

However, I am having trouble interpreting the visualeffects.2da I extracted from the latest version (CEP 2.3).  I see where the CEP_RESERVED content ends at line 7167, but are the USER lines that follow (7168 all the way to 8191) there for my use, or do I need to go below those?

I simply want to make sure that what I am working on will be available for all those who may already use CEP, and not mess up Bioware or CEP content.  '<img'>

My thanks.  '<img'>

If it's listed as reserved for user in the CEP 2das, then you should be able to safely use those for your own work.  If you want to make your work even more compatible, you might check your 2da vs stuff like Project Q or the Community Patch 1.70 as well.

               LOL

Thanks for the advice.  I'll probably just add 2,000 lines and hope that is enough that folks don't head that far south.  '<img'>

That sounds good. If you give that kind of room, you are likely safe. I wish more folks working on Custom Content thought like this.
