Unfortunately, the old forums are down now and much of your excellent links can't be reached....sigh.

I am going absolutely daft, could someone please tell me where to find Talk files, most specifically I'm looking for cep23_v1

....but running a search on NWN Vault for Talk or Tlk produces nothings, This is driving me bonkers, I go through this every time with a new computer, it's just not intuitive for me where these are located.

where to download it?  or where to find on your HDD?

on your HDD it's /nwn/tlk

if you want to download it from the vault...it's probably in the rar/7z/exe file somewhere.

Oh my flipping bother really?  I guess that's why I never remembered, it's too painful, LOL, thanks Knight_Shield.  I will *gasp* download the entire CEP again to find the talk file, can't believe I missed it but I evidently did.

Criminy, ya think NWN Vault would start a Talk File Section, because you can't search for those in any of the other folders.  Well, off to have a wonderful night.

The Krit has updated Lilac Soul's Script Generator

http://nwvault.ign.c....Detail&id=1502

It's a great update. It not only adds 1.69 functions it handles variables in a much more sophisticated manner. Using the old system you had to place all variables on the PC. The Krit has enabled variables to be set on and retrieved from OBJECT_SELF, any object by tag, the PC, or the PC's party. This will make it much easier for builders with little or no scripting skill to create multi-player modules.

Is there any way to access the Bioware tutorials from the old forums? They must have been taken down because most links in the OP just redirect to the newer Bioware homepage and I'm desperate to learn how to add custom music to a new module.

<spinning the dial, twisting the handle and...>

A lot of that stuff is included in the Omnibus OTR put together:

What information does this release of the NWN Omnibus contain?
2DA 169 - All 575 .2DA files, current to the 1.69 release

3DS Max Export Scripts - BioWare 3DS Max export scripts documentation, which includes a good deal of information on NWN Custom Content in general. Downloadable separately here

BioWare For Developers - All 22 documents covering NWN file formats (and other things) from this page

BioWare Forums - Offline archives of the following forums from the old BioWare website, each thread in its own .HTML file. The following full forum archives from the old BioWare site are included in this release: NWN Custom Content (ARCHIVE), BioWare News Discussion, Custom Content, For Developers, Scripting, Server Admin & Toolset. Also Stickied threads for every forum were included.

Custom Content Guide 3.0 - The "Bible" of Custom Content. Downloadable separately here.

GMax & Maxscript Help - Help files for GMax (3DS Max 4) and Maxscript, downloadable separately here

Lexicon 169 - The "Bible" of NWScript (and many, many other things as well!), downloadable separately here

Tileset Construction - BioWare's NWN Tileset Construction Tutorial, downloadable separately here. I don't include any of the files, just index the information.

TXI - Every TXI officially released by BioWare as part of their content, segregated by the bif they were found in. Extremely useful for looking up how certain TXI commands were used by BioWare and whether other commands or setting were typically paired with them.

Beyond that, there are the links in my sig and the wayback machine at archive.org is nothing to be sneezed at.

Thanks to Lightfoot8, I have now updated all but one of the bioware links to point to the way back machine - it may at times be slow but at least you can read the originals again!
