Aeilund Saga: Henchmen glitch *Small Spoiler, I guess*
« on: March 26, 2014, 05:57:18 am »

So I'm at the beginning of ACT 2 and I have two henchmen. The princess, and the other male rouge. I invited the barbarian woman to join my party and she accepted my payment of 1,000 gold. She then joined my party. I was surprised: did this mean three henchmen are allowed this time, or does the princess not count like in Act 1 because she's mandatory? Anyway, I ended up booting the warrior woman because I thought that the knight might be better suited to our party. He rebutted me though xD So when i tried to add her back, she told me that my party was too big already. That's odd.

So I ask, which is the glitch? Was the glitch the fact she joined my party in the first place? Or what happened later?

Princess is a temporary companion who is also mandatory so she does not count.

How did you remove the barbarian from the party?  Did you tell her to leave via dialogue or use the radial menu?  If you used the radial menu to kick her out of the party then that's a big no-no in just about every module I've heard of as its known to cause bugs at times.

No i used dialogue to kick her out. Hmm. So then its safe for me to debug it? (Technically cheating, but since Its intended that I'm allowed to have her, I don't care '<img'>)

You are supposed to be able to have the barbarian in your party, but you are supposed to deliver the princess safely to the castle before you do anything else, as instructed by the captain of the ship that brought you to Fairmont. I suspect that if you "get rid of" the princess like you are supposed to do, you will no longer have a problem recruiting the barbarian.

Oh, yeah, I was assuming you had delivered the princess at this point.  If not, that might cause the issue.  Make sure you do that and then check.

But, general rule, you should always be able to get 2 companions (though some may refuse to join you for personal reasons like the paladin).  Sometimes more than 2 but always at least 2.
