Toolset help!
« on: August 17, 2012, 08:25:13 am »

This might end up being an extremely noobish question with a really simple answer, but I haven't been able to find one online.

See, I just 'created a module', I guess? It's really just one area and a maybe a chest, just to see if I could. I made sure to include a starting area, and I saved it, but when I looked into my modules folder using my windows browser it was nowhere to be found, and I couldn't pick it from my list of available modules when I ran NWN either. But when I opened the toolset again, it was there.

So it's not as though the thing doesn't exist, it's just that only the toolset seems to recognize its existence. How do I get it to show up in my modules folder?

               open it again
save it with a brand new name

Open your Module folder, or whatever folder you have set to be your modules folder.

View by 'Details'
Sort Alphabetically, and make sure no files are hidden.

Ensure it has an extension of .mod   and not nwm
nwm is used for neverwinter nights official campaigns - although I doubt this is the problem here.

Worse case scenario - take some screenshots, then attach to this thread.

               open it again
save it using the "Save As..." option.   Make   sure the folder you are saving it to is the modules folder.

Common problem when people install the game into the x86 folder.  You would be better off installing the game directly to the C drive.

               Windows 7?

As Lightfoot8 said, most games that are installed into the "Program Files (x86)" folder always end up suffering with some problems when it comes to trying to find something. So you may need uninstall the game and then re-install but this time in a new folder on the C drive.

Oh and if this happens to be the case, please go to C:\\Users\\*Your name*\\AppData\\Local\\VirtualStore\\Program Files (x86) to retrieve your NWN save games and any other modules you may have created. It's likely that the save games have been saved there too.
