Judging by the interest in here I might have to revisit my module for clerics of Shar at some point... (once I've put Torslunda to bed!).

After playing A Hunt Through the Dark series... I want more modules where you can actually be a drow instead of hunting them.. But I cant seem to find many... Overall there really should be more of these types of modules as they are uncommon & I think I will make my own campaign based upon the Underdark.. The zombie thing is getting old actually... So the Drow it is... In the meantime, please will others make more underdark modules!? I seen there is an online drow PW community but then again I have dialup at home... Not good for this kind of thing!

Hmmm. I'm probably late here but we're developing a module that is the sequel to The Lowland General (A mainly hack and slash module where the only RPG elements are the leveling up parts) and unlike the first, you are presented with many choices and side quests which effect the world. You can also freely roam some of the world and unlike the first, you truly see how ruthless The Lowland General is. For example, at one point, you come across some deserters and you are given two choices - kill them and have their families killed too to teach a lesson to those that think of deserting the army, or you can have them tortured. There's no mercy here. You're either ruthless or very ruthless. Another example is where a thief (who is a poor man just trying to make a living) tries to steal from you - you can break his legs (where he remains in that spot without anyone coming to help him - it's a cruel world) or you can simply kill him.

It's more of an RPG than the first BTW. I'd even say it's a dark fantasy RPG.

I second the recommendations for 'A Day In The Life Of Evil' and 'The Gods Themselves'.

ADITLOE is both deliciously wicked and rather amusing, even if you are forced to play a pre-generated elderly wizard. Also, it doesn't drag on forever and a day, which I find a refreshing change of pace after all those needlessly epic modules people have a habit of churning out. (Like unnecessarily lengthy novels, unnecessarily lengthy modules are boring. If the story doesn't warrant it, don't drag it out for the sake of it. You're not doing yourself or your player-base any favours.)

TGT trilogy, on the other hand, is both long (relatively speaking) and complicated, but relentlessly entertaining nevertheless. Those of you with a delicate constitution need not apply, as evil is as evil does, and you're quite decidedly evil while playing TGT. But then, that's what you're after, right?

Have fun, and don't let the forces of truth and virtue get you down.

"Assassin: Hand of the Zshi" is for evil characters.  I played Vampire PnP in the old days and all of us were creatures of the night. The module mentioned above you are part of the order of Abel and I did not see an evil path. Could somebody confirm that there is one?

Also, the Bastard of Kosigan series by Fabien Cerutti allows you to take different sides to reach your goals and betray your allies (but I'm not sure you could speak of pure good and evil sides there, it's more about power politics and personal interests in a grayscale rather than black and white world).

Only fools speak of pure evil (or good) anyway '<img'> It's all about the shades of grey and the border between light and shadow.

But I take this as a +1 for Bastard '<img'>

Just a heads up: "Court of Night" is actually a "bastard child" of Vampire: Heaven Defied; it's based on the same areas, scripts, cutscenes and general plot, but was adapted to a different setting, all dialogues were re-written, all characters renamed and the module was graphically overhauled, that is updated with some of the best custom content around. None of this with the authorization of the original author though, and the result is somewhat unpolished, IMO, because it's full of leftovers from the original version that don't really fit into the new one. jml could confirm that; at the time when he recommended Court of Night, he wasn't aware of it yet.

So, if you want a more polished and original game, I recommend "Vampire: Heaven Defied" instead. Unless you prefer the graphical overhaul, don't mind the bugs and are such an evil aligned player that you don't care about the ethics of using other people's work without their consent. In that case, suit yourself and play "Court of Night". '<img'>

Well, I feel you should know the true story about it...
Kenneth J. La Mella certainly shows some real talent to "modernize" NWN with the nicest latest community's mods, not his, now available. And his Court of Night surely belongs to the most beautiful NWN I ever played.
But... what he does is nothing but copying, with many bugs, an already existing greatest module, and only adding, without the slightest technical knowledge, the best visuals made by the community.
Which makes it a surely beautiful but totally out of control and forged module, almost impossible to play because of tones of bugs... unless you're that kind of player who would never quites when facing such a beauty... like someone I kind of know well.
The reason why I, myself, voted 10 for it... before I found out.
I still find it well diserved "somehow"... I only wished the whole truth could have been told here.

Now, here is the true original (cult) module:
Vampire – Heaven Defied, by Chojin
I'm sorry to say, even today, I did enjoyed both. But...
Your call.
Have fun.

How delightful! [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie] Ethical dilemas in the meta-game!

And how did *you* resolve this little contretemps? Did you play in either? Did you burn CoN to a CD and jump up and down on it? Did you snobbishly turn up your nearly non-existant froggy nose? Or, perhaps, you sat in that anonymous penumbra of the eternal wall-flower and snickered at all the *inventive* invective?
I am here to learn, oh great evil... thing. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/kissing.png[/smilie]

I, of course, will dip my dainty little toe into each. '<img'>

But, my dear J (may I call you J?), it always *is* my call '<img'>
That you are so honest in your appraisal of each is... honestly, it's a weakness I may exploit someday '<img'>
Nothing like enlisting kind and generous people to nefarious ends... *such* a thrill!

I feel all warm and fuzzy now '<img'>

'looks like Olivier and I did nothing but make it only more spicy for your vampiric teeth.
Both modules should surely feed you well.
Now, enjoy the show!

More than that, dear one.  You led me directly into conflict. Thank you!

And I am interested in how Olivier resolved his own personal ethos...

Says so much about a person, I think, whether they shy away from conflict or investigate it; whether they accept community "wisdom" and follow blindly without ever investigating for themselves; whether they ever take on the sheer chutzpah of thinking and deciding for themselves... and then accepting the consequences (or dumping them on some unsuspecting patsy - always the best kind of patsy!'<img'>).

*smiles coyly* Would you like to hear my opinion of both mods when I am done?
