Single Player Modules in Development

Oh man, I feel like such a deadbeat. Three modules with "no release or news since 2009.". I didn't think anybody was paying attention. Hope a few updates here makes up for it.

STATIC:

Very much in production now. Was originally slated for a 2009 Halloween release, but got pushed back in favor of releasing July Anarchy Prologue sooner. The scope of the game has since grown. It is now a multi-hour survival-hour module in the vein of Silent Hill. Hard to nail a release date with all the crazy scripts getting crammed into this one, but Static will come out within 2011.

NO CIGAR:

This module WAS going along nicely... until a CEP update somehow deleted the old tlk file, preventing me from accessing anything within the module. May have to start from scratch. As a result, don't expect any progress on the module until after Static is released.

As for the module itself, it's a large-scale urban adventure for low-level characters. Though it takes place in the Realms, much of the story parodies, adjusts or outright contradicts the traditional Realms lore. Think Baldur's Gate meets Titan AE.

SCYTHE:

Sorry, this module is currently on indefinite hold. As much as I would love to do a gothic-themed module, so far it just isn't as intriguing as Static or No Cigar.

Update the list after hearing from the author of A Visit to Fennvale, Static, No Cigar and Scythe.

Static, No Cigar and Scythe have been updated while A Visit to Fennvale was added to the list.

Hey, good to see you're still around and planning to update "A Visit to Fennvale". You know I enjoyed the beta-test and was already wondering what became of the module. '<img'>

Thanks.  I wish I could truly convey how much I appreciate what you and so many others provided as feedback.  Fennvale has become a better place to visit, thanks to y'all.  '<img'>  The process I've engaged in so far is script, script, script,  bug run, fix, script, bug run, fix, script, script, script...get sick of it all, drop the project for a while, pick it up again, script, script, script...I'm at a point where it's so very close to being done, but some of the bugs are really weird to fix.  That's the only way I can describe it.  Other than that, the henchmen are driving me nuts.  I feel like I have too much work invested in them to throw them out, but I'm quickly reaching a point where I may cut them and a few other things just to get the darn thing done.                @ Zejan the Wonder Monkey, your destiny is to publish it, only you don't know it yet.

We do.

Again, thanks for that tread, and keeping it up, FP.

I'm back.  Returning to my mod is a little disorientating trying to remember what's done and what needs doing, but the good news is most of the bugs reported to me are dealt with and I left myself some helpful notes dotted around.  I do intend to at least finish chapter 1.  It would be a crime not too after all the work I've put into it!

The bad news is don't expect to see it too soon.  I'm still working alone and have a rather daunting technical issue to implement.  Hope to update my blog soon with some news over at http://quillmastersc...s.blogspot.com/

Nice to see this thread - Thanks FesterPot!

I just wanted to add that the final chapter of my "Prophet" series ("Chapter III - That which is destined") is close to completion. I'd be a fool to promise a release date, but in a few weeks it should be ready for playtesting, which will probably take 1-2 months or so. So perhaps you could add it to this list.

Some screenshots can be found here: <http://nwvault.ign.c....Detail&id=485>

Thanks a lot!!

Yes. My play time has always been relatively scarce and I was late to the party (started playing NWN in 2006) so I have found enough single player modules to keep me busy the past 5 years. There are some amazing single player modules still being created. People are really missing out if they do not give some of them a try. I am thankful for the authors of these modules, since I dont have the time required to immerse myself in a MP world.

Definitely. Time zones and available time are considerable restraints on the ability to enjoy PWs, not to mention a lot of people prefer the discover the story aspect of single player modules, and the amazing quality of projects that are constantly being released.

               Hello,

Juste un petit mot pour les amateurs de modules Neverwinter 1 en français, Le "chateau des voleurs" (Thief Headquarters) est proche d'une nouvelle release (direct de la 0.85 à la v.0.95 '<img'>

Just a word... Le "chateau des voleurs" (Thief Headquarters) is approaching a new release (straight to the v.0.95 '<img'>  Yes it's a french language module (someday i could translate it if there is enough interest).

Thanks to all the courageous men and women who helped in this endeavour.

There exist some thing, some magic, in single player modules that I cannot find in the years of multiplayer I've sat down on.  It is difficult to explain.  The best way to describe it is like picking up an interesting book that interests you so much that you can't put it down until it is complete.  In multiplayer, you may have the luxery of a DM and players that help you create a story, but its not the same.  In single player, you can control the pace (you play when you want), and everything is set for you waiting for you to discover.  You are also, more probable than not, the focal point of the story, so it engages you even more.  Stories are also much more focused in a single player game than anything I have really experienced in multiplayer, comparatively speaking.

I love multiplayer but I'm always happy to sit down and pull up a good module when I get the chance.
