Dances with Rogues Module Freezes during unpacking

               I recently downloaded a copy of the module "Dances with Rogues" and every time I go to load the module up it freezes during the unpacking process.  Does anyone know of a solution to this problem?

Anyone know where the most update to date version of this file can be found?  I pulled my copy of some Ign file site that is dedicated to NWN.

You likely got the most up to date verision if you got it from the vault,  It's 1.50 if I'm correct.

It's been ages since I've seen a module hang in unpacking... If you haven't already I'd redown load and unrar, and reinstall it.  Check I had a empty override but for default bioware files.



File Size should be 57056742 bytes for the module - and 93,206,407 bytes for the ACAG106.hak



How far into the unpack does it get before the freeze?

               The 1,5 version I just tried is fine. It only requires SoU & HotU, ACAG and I assume 1,69.
Is this where you got it from ("Official" vault d/l):
A Dance with Rogues, Part One

               I have the same problem, it freezes a bit further than half load. I have made a clean install of diamond edition and copied the required archives, nothing else.

               Can you unpack other modules that are in .exe NWN format?

               I just tried with the stuff seating on the vault today:
Only 2 files really matter:
- A Dance with Rogues Part 1 V1.50.mod
- ACAG106.hak
(Both you're getting by "unraring" 2 vault files)
Your PC should be a female, level 1, with Charisma & Dexterity at 14+. But even if she is not meeting with those criterias, the first map,"Castle under siege", still should load fine. And prompt you to the exit for some rebuilding, as your princess won't fit the story...
But again, that worked for me tonight, just as it is on the vault. 
Did you make all the NWN updates? 
I don't even remember if ADWR works under 1,69, but SoU & HotU for sure.

               Get the 1.69 critical update. Your prepatched version is missing some files.

               Just tried to run this module myself, and I'm getting the same problem.  Crashes while trying to unpack it.  Couldn't use the auto-update patch program so manually downloaded it, and trying to use the auto-update says I'm now up-to-date.  Anybody got any ideas?

               I had two or three people tell me that my module, Gladiatrix, would freeze when loading the hak files. One person said they solved the problem by doing the following:
* Back up your hak folder
* Make a new hak folder with only the module's hak files and the CEP hak files if you are using it

When they did that they said it worked. Apparently there were some files in the hak folder that were conflicting. I'm not sure if this will work for you but it might be worth a try.

               I don't see how the hak folder could interfere here, unless there are some duplicated hek names, highly unlikely.
What you're saying sounds more like an override work-around.
Anyway, maybe you should open a specific Gladiatrix thread for this, also to keep us updated with Gladiatrix Part 2, one I'm already longing for.

               A lot of content got corrupted on the nwvault.ign.com....

Unfortunately...

Maybe they didn't have the content in RAID 1 or maybe they didn't have everything backed up properly, who knows?

Nevertheless, I don't think there is anything anyone of us can do about that...

You may want to try to redownload it a few times, sometimes things get corrupted through download, I've had this happen a few times...

Could be a faulty wire on their end, again, very tough to say what is wrong...

I would definitely try re-downloading the content and try unpacking it again...

Interesting, I didn't like the module one bit, but that's just me..
