Module Announcement and Looking for an Official Review
« on: August 25, 2010, 04:45:49 pm »

               Dear NWN fans,

I would like your feedback on a module I recently completed putting together:

"Labours of Redemption aka The Ten Labours",

a classical mythological module. It is available at the NWN vault at:

http://nwvault.ign.c....Detail&id=6118

In addition, the module is pending review, so if there are any willing module reviewers, please apply at the relevant NWNVault page:

http://nwvault.ign.c...views/index.php

Cheers and Happy Adventuring!

Module Announcement and Looking for an Official Review

It's always welcome to try out a new module that doesn't require haks, however I need some guidance.

I scanned the walkthrough looking for some clarification of the assorted downloads but found none there, so...

Are there 4 versions of the same module or are there 4 different modules?

If 4 versions, which is the one you want tested/reviewed?
If 4 different modules, what sequence should they be played?

Thanks, amigo!

               Dear HipMaestro,

thanks for your interest in Labours of Redemption!

I apologize for the confusion caused by my module versioning.

There is only 1 module to download, the latest version being "labours_of_redemption_v0.3.mod". This is the file you need to download, add to your modules directory, play and review.

I have kept online the different development versions with ascending decimal numbers, but I can see now that this can confuse people:blink:. Do you suggest that I delete the older versions from the page? WDYT?

Let me know how you get on!':wizard:'

Cheers.

NP.  Just wanted to make sure I was DLing the one you wanted reviewed.  Version numbers are not always intuitive to all readers.  I see now how you decided to track them.  Tx.

I would still leave them all there in case others who have reviewed earlier versions lose their original copy somehow, and still have suggestions to pass on.  I would recommend appending a more dummy-proof tag to the title like "(Current version)" for example, on the file you want tested and then keep moving the tag as you create newer versions.  Yours is not the only file list on the Vault that can be hard to decipher for neophyte reviewers.  However, never having submitted anything to the Vault , I don't know if you can simply edit the titles or need to completely remove and resubmit with the revised file title.  I pray its a simple edit.

Let me know how you get on!':wizard:'

You can count on it! '<img'>

I changed your link. I suggest you edit your original post because only reviewers of the Reviewers Guild can interact with the page you linked to. '<img'>

If anyone does want to join the Reviewers Guild and give this module an official review then you would be welcome to apply. Follow the link and send a message to VPJ or QSW for details on how to join.

Have fun '<img'>

Just to reiterate, the reviewer's guild is indeed accepting applications.  While you can't review your own modules, obviously; we could use some good writers with good judgment to add some new blood and fresh perspectives.

Information on becoming a reviewer

Application Form

Thanks,

What VPJ said...new blood is always welcome at the RG ;D

@CXS - I gather from the comments left on your module page and your own last reply, that your module is still somewhat BETA?

While we can't review modules in BETA, we can keep your module on our Pending list at least until the end of October. If after that time you still need time to clean up a few bits and bobs, no problem, all you have to do is re-enter your module for review once you are happy it can stand up to review.

Best of luck to you!

One suggestion: Make the download as easy as possible. (No old stuff, or in one very "warned" file).  Sorry to go against some friends here '', but I know "some people" who simply, especially some frenchies ':alien:', won't d/l and play anything confusing when it comes to installation.
No name, but we all know whom I'm talking about... ''

The module is now v1.0 (older beta versions have been removed) and I believe is in reviewable state. I will re-enter it in the pending list and would be grateful if any reviewers can be found.

Cheers,

Christos.

               Dear all,

Labours of Redemption now has a new version uploaded in NWVault, v1.1.

Certain multiplayer glitches have been fixed, and certain storyline items have been improved. If anyone wants to give it a go, please! '<img'>

Cheers,

Christos.

@cxs - I'm sorry we at the Reviewer's Guild were unable to review your module. You may have noticed our sticky announcement on the Vault some time back where we explained that we were clearing out our NWN1 & 2 module review Pending Lists.

At this time we have no active Reviewer's, and only the odd mini review is being released. I have downloaded your latest version, and will over the coming weeks try to play your module. At this moment in RL, a 20 hour module is not something I can normally invest time in. That said, I will try and should I manage it, a review would not be forthcoming before the end of the year.

All the best '<img'>
