Dastards Morrow - Maiden Voyage (V2.5)
A great module, another one I played because of this thread.
One very close to reach the top ones, as it's full of surprises, interesting cutscenes, a few clever puzzles along the way, because they all make sense with the story, only it's sadly missing, in my opinion, a rewriting, a polishing, that final touch that makes a story a whole.
Many strong ideas, kind of all waiting for more faith, or time. All the ingredients, only the cook went missing right before winning the contest.
Very close.
To the point your own imagination could probably fix it while playing, but it's always a bit of a pity, having to "work" instead of just being carried away.
The fights are all amazing. 'better be smart here...

Some more modules I truly enjoyed lately:

Blackwall Keep I & II <>
Soul Shaker
- And of course, Amazon Warrior, recently updated.  <3>

I have had a brief look through the list and I agree there are a lot of good mods out there. The same few keep getting mentioned, and I'm lucky enough that I haven't played most of those yet.
I wanted to quickly mention one more set that hasn't appeared yet:
The two 'Penultima' arcs. A light-hearted approach with a moderately decent story that was executed not too badly. I'll admit that the first arc was a bit more of a hassle, but I thoroughly enjoyed both notheless. That could be because the humour was perfect for me, though. The modules (10 of them) didn't take themselves too seriously.

                The 'Penultima' serie by StefanGagne
(Some reading about the Penultima serie.)
Anything by StefanGagne anyway is much worth the trip.

Some reading about Stefan "Twoflower" Gagne himself.

It's a different kind of mod, obviously, but Black Thorn is a pretty unique and interesting little mod.

I also loved Torslunda as a terrific low-level mod.  Reminds me a lot of Cave of Songs, which I'm playing now.

I was also a pretty big fan of the Saleron's Gambit series.

I have a list of my favorites here:
http://nwvault.ign.c...s.Detail&id=174
Not much of the newer stuff, as I've been away for a while.  But these are all terrific mods.

That's a pretty sweet list, Berliad  '<img'>  Like you I haven't played any of the latest stuff, and I liked Cave of Songs too.  Hope all is well, mate!

I also liked Silencing Rathmann by Auslime and both of Firestarter's Ravenloft mods, especially the second one, which for a hak-less mod was really innovative.  I playtested and had some input into those mods though so might be biased.  But maybe not, since I wouldn't have seriously tested them if I didn't really like them  '<img'>

Lots of really good mods don't seem to make it to these lists, including my own...lol  With that one I am totally biased  '<img'>

Now, about that "The Best Module in your opinion is?" thread: I've been often thinking to make a list of "the best NWN modules around" out of it for a long time. Only... it could get very subjective, and my own test isn't universal, I've heard. So, if you know one or two, but not thousands of modules that deserve to be promoted, about you write it down right here, in that very thread, one to be kept as the discussion-reference thread, with a very, very, very, very few little comments, and I just copy past it, every week? to a "no talk" silent (hopfully "Sticky") list, with only the name of the module, the name(s) of the author(s), the proper links for both, and the name of its sponsor-forumer. All links provided by the sponsor, of course... if you see what I mean.
We would need a title, and true english speakers are welcome here, one saying "it's not the best modules list but the "NWN community's favorite modules" recommendation" for instance, only in a nicer way. Just a list, plain and simple, with a permanent link to that very "talking" thread here, for more infos eventually, as some sort of source.
Self promotion would be allowed. (I already have a lawyer in mind...)
Also a list for the "left aside" modules you find deserving more than they ever got.
Alphabetical order? Or historical, with dates provided... by the sponsor also!
But it has to be kept very simple. Very, very, very, very simple.
Did I say very?

Now listening... ''

               'Tales of Arterra'

A very special mention, along with those players posts above who also loved that game, to the 'Tales of Arterra' serie, by Kevin Chan, or is that toa_lost?
First to Epic level (23rd?)
I had such a great time playing it, it's got it all, and for once I could almost talk also about "role-playing by the NWN book", not necessarily always mine, even if mine was also at fun here.
(My own definition of role-playing being when I "am" the hero.)
Action, but not the only path always, both ways equally rewarded, nice story... and amazing companions.
I would only suggest to play as a male hero here, for a change, and as a goody one, as it seems to be better written that way. Your call.
Now, only to help choosing your class, here are your friends to be all along:
- Montador (Fighter, guy)
- Evanine (Rogue, girl)
- Persey (Cleric, girl)
Feel very free to play anything you wish to be. (Some "uneasy" rest restrictions though...)
Any class should be nicely served by such a caring and perfectly executed module.
A classic.
In the classisc area of the NWN library.

Maybe I missed this, but how on earth is the Rose of Eternity not mentioned in here?

It's a toss-up for me between Rose of Eternity and the Prophet series, (which is now finished, btw).

Runners-up: Saleron's Gambit, A Harper's Tale, The Aielund Saga, Avertine: A Nation Dreamed, AL3: Tyrants of the Moonsea, Sanctum of the Archmage, Honor Among Thieves, Agrenost: Beneath the Cobbles, and the HeX Coda.

You're so very right, Rafe34.
Also maybe because there are so many modules out there, and so many amazing ones.
But 'Rose of Eternity', by Challseus, being definitely among the legendary ones.

And it just got updated! '<img'>
I just so wish that very thread could be simply used like you just most excellently did...
Still thinking about making one "Best modules by the community" (sticky?) thread out of this one...
Simple... something like this, right below...

               Great list, jmlzemaggo.

I would definitely put Honor Among Thieves also by Baldecaran in there.

Also, in english, we say series even for the singular version of the word. There is no serie in English.

So for example you would say Saleron's Gambit series, by Tiberius209, not Saleron's Gambit serie, by Tiberius209.

I never did manage to get Careena working, going to try to figure that one out again. It froze always at the loading of the second area, (if I recall correctly, when you are leaving the ship).

               @ Rafe34

I know that list for being unfair, but I hope useful for the new players, which is always my first concern.
That's funny you mentionned "Honor Among Thieves". Baldecaran is gonna hate me for saying this, I'm sure he already does anyway for many other reasons, but, as much as 'Prophet' has been seating in my signature for ever, I've never been that crazy about HAT myself. Maybe because I knew this lazy Mad scientist, in his own terms, was still holding his real talent against us at that time.
Now... I believe I found a way around, trying to respect every player's heart: if you click on the module link, you don't get to the module page, but to the author's vault page (only when I found it, not that easy...)... where you're free (which means both gratuity and freedom in english...) to shop, for 0 money indeed, anything you want, includig your beloved HAT for instance.
And 'The Cave of Songs' as the unexpected gift...
I wanna keep that impossible list simple. For beginners. And for memories, including my feeble one, my other attempt to a list being already way too "NWN expert" '<img'>, I'm afraid.

Now, way more important to me, you have no idea how helpful you went by correcting me on that 'series' spelling.
(Corrections made)
You very much look like a girl from you avatar, and I always thought women are the only human beings with balls, if you don't mind me saying so. And these suggestions of yours are surely not gonna make me change my mind. '<img'>

Thanks.

***Careena***
I never had any problem playing it, but that module has always been my H&S module "de chevet". The one I always go back to when I need some action. And not only. It's a true 'Game', written to have fun, by girls, guys and even more, having some obvious fun writing it.
Try it again. It should work. I'd try it myself in between...
And Dallo is around, in this very thread atually...

@ Any player else
Suggestions, any single one, are more than welcome.
With links... ':police:'                                                                         ':bandit:':bandit:':bandit:'

Just waiting for some eventual corrections, and that list is going in. No time to loose anymore.
Fire up.
