Looking for Linux and Mac testers!
« on: June 12, 2011, 03:31:07 pm »

I've recently created a custom NWN executable that allows custom classes in character selection. Unfortunately, this is currently not compatible with Linux or Macs for obvious reasons, which I find a nuisance as it'd make the vast majority of the server unavailable to these players.

Sadly, I don't have access to either, which makes the entire issue a little bit more annoying.  With this in mind I'm looking for users of either OS that wouldn't mind making some edits to a backup copy of NWN.

It's not quite as awkward as it sounds, honest! '<img'>

I have a linux box that I just freshly reinstalled yesterday, provided I don't need a few more gigs of haks you can count me in.  Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit

Use NWNXIAB to test - you can host other OS's in windows via virtual machine:

Thanks for the link but NWNXIAB doesn't seem to be a playable copy (at least not from a semi-rushed attempt at setting it up), making it a bit difficult to try the client executable out. I'll get the Linux client to Calvin at some point shortly. '<img'>

Still looking for a Mac client tester, since it seems nobody runs it! '<img'>

If you can't find a mac tester, I can see what I can do.  I generally have access to a number of players, I should be able to find someone on a mac client.
