Two different Bloodletters...
« on: October 11, 2011, 04:31:28 am »

I dont think this characterises a spoiler, but those who focus on Bastard Swords will like to notice a small detail.

It is possible to find Blooddletter even in OC (though it is a lvl 19 artifact), and maybe in HotU too. I think it has a standard Wounding property of DC = 14.

But if you buy it off the Djinn you find in chapter 1, it will have a DC = 24. I remember this from a play I had as Weaponmaster, and now that I am playing with a Wizard with an Assassin and a WM as my two 'party members', I will remember this.

i wonder why the same item may have different properties in NWN...

its not the same item but two items with the same name, most HotU weapons just improving upon weapons from OC, but most of them are named with +X which is different on both versions

Not that it is the same, but in the OC chapter 3, you can have that dwarf make a Chromatic Plate +3, which has different properties from a CP +3 you open in the toolset. Why have the exat same name then, I dont know (and I believe NOT w/ every tiem this happens )

Don't question your luck when you get a better item than intended. '<img'> I advise checking the toolset for that though.

Yes you are right. I heard about this someone pointed me into this for my patch project however I had not yet looked into it so Im not sure. The improved version apparently doesnt match with version in default palette.

Probably this "improvement" either replaces armor itemproperties (but I think these functions came with expansions) or there is a special blueprint in OC module which override the default one or it is just a new blueprint with own resref. Whatever was it, truth is that the version you get doesnt make sense (if I remember correctly) so I believe it can be pointed as a bug.

Just to update something I misinformed on this subject: the 'modified' Bloodletter does exist, but NOT in the Djinni Bottle. You will find it after *EVISCERATING* Dahanna, that inferior Duergar mutt that foolishly tries to oppose your might.

That sounds right; I don't recall Volkarion selling that sword. However, the script that populates his store has some typos in it and he is probably supposed to sell one or two enhanced items (e.g. Axe for the Tall Kin +8) that never show up because of garbled tags in the script.
