We somehow made the connection before David said Fenris was partially inspired by Valen. Sevaral Valen fangirl nearly flip the roof. A few of them who never played the game rushed to gog to order them. Then it suddenly dawn to us it will be so cool if Valen's VA who voiced Fenris as well.

Long story short. It's those who haven' t have the chance to play the game were asking what his voice sounds like.

Yes. Even though, I'm not exactly sailing under Fenris ship yet (Aveline stole my heart and, to be honest, I do need to meet the characters before I jump into any ship) I was one of girls who was really happy to know that Fenris had something of Valen in him - the potential was already there, but a confirmation from Gaider himself was pure awesome material. Being voiced by the same actor? Hmm... I don't know if that's good or bad. Like Kaidan having the same voice as Carth. I like Raphael Sbarge's voice and I had an epic crush on Carth Onasi, but each time Kaidan popped into my screen, it was AWKWARD MOMENT material! Because of the epic Carth romance, partially.

I adored Valen's voice - that contained tone in the speech and his sexy growls were quite something to swoon at... And, damn, still are. I can see it fitting Fenris like a glove. And no, I wouldn't complain. Not a bit. But having someone new might bring a new edge into it. It's always a risk, but I'm sure they'll come up with something that'll appease our rabid fangirlism ;D

Those poor souls who didn't play Hordes of the Underdark deserve to have their swoons, too. Lead them to their doom, tanky x) Or shall I be the one to do it?

               Oh, that *voice*... @Merllle, thank you so much for posting that, just lovely '<img'> There's something about the way he sort of growls and whispers at the same time.



For all that I am completely into Dragon Age and Mass Effect with their very pretty graphics and nice cinematics and so forth, there is something just wonderful about the way Valen was written and voiced, despite being an 'older' game. Even now going back to it, it doesn't seem lacking in comparison, though I do wish there was more voicing. For listening and swooning purposes, if nothing else '<img'>

               I generally prefer older games. No idea why - nostalgia? The fact that I can't get a PS3/Xbox360 for love or money? The fact that the computer I'm typing this all on is fussy when it comes to games?



Also, just so you all know, I started another new game of HotU - mostly so I could get an arcane archer. And while I played, I looked away for one moment... and it decided to BSOD. *sniff* And I nearly finished Chapter 1, too. '<img'>
