I agree. Basically, any system installation must be disabled as a default setting, but the HCR can be configured to easily merge an HCR designed and configured system through the installation of hooks. Existing third party systems are not configured to the HCR and installation of them works against the idea of the HCR. The development/modification of a few major systems would, I believe, be helpful to the community.
There are a few basic needs developers may come to desire. A few possibilities for systems configured and modified or designed with the idea of hooking to the HCR are:
- Henchman to help out with the design of a mods difficulty level and playability whether a pw or solo adventure.
- An expandable base crafting system for adding entertainment value and the creation of an economy to a pw server.
- A real persistence system apart from the standard BW Set/GetCampaign methods, possibly configurable to either an external database or player nodrop item.
Proper documentation must be provided to enable installation of any additional systems and they must be set up to work out of the box with the default HCR.
