Recruitment: Legacy of the Gnasthtooth Weekly Campaign
« on: February 10, 2011, 03:40:49 am »

I'll admit right off the back I wasn't sure exactly where this should be posted. If this is incorrect, please move it to the right section. Thank you!

Anyway, long story short Legacy of the Gnashtooth (of LotG) is a campaign that I've been running for around half a year on the World Serpent Inn server. The characters involved meet once a week on Saturdays (at 1 PM EST) and the sessions generally run 2-3 hours in length. Due to various RL obligations some characters have had to drop out, so I'm hoping to pick up another 1 or 2 (perhaps more) and figured I'd see if anyone out there is interested that visits these boards.

Basic Overview:
The Gnashtooth are the tribe of Kobolds known to infest a set of tunnels and caves to the North East of Raven's Bluff in the Vast. No one is really sure how large the tribe is, but the fact there is a seemingly countless number of kobolds constantly scouting and moving among the lands suggests it is a fairly large clan.

The Gnashtooth have existed for a long time. It was said dwarves and gnomes used to work in a shallow mine till it seemingly dried up. Some doubt there was ever even a mine there, as there is little to no evidence left of such.  Somewhat disturbingly, adventurers have reported seeing strange statues and even an ancient infernal looking temple within. It definitely does not seem to be the work of kobold craftsman, so it is potentially something buried deep they have uncovered...

The origin of the name and the Gnashtooth itself is known only to them and even then few among the tribe outside their historians (they employ an oral history, told by bards) it is more a legend than history. Many suspect it is a hero of the tribe, the name of the first to establish it, or possibly a draconic ancestor. There seem to be numerous tales and little proof toward one or another.

As a kobold of their tribe your life has been difficult. No matter how old you might be, you would have already seen
death. Everyone in the tribe has lost a friend, a family, or one they care for. Everyone seems out to get you, to take away your home and kill your family. You can't trust anyone outside the clan.

The survival of the clan is above all else. This isn't so much what you were taught, but a fact of life to you. If you do not work together withyour fellows, you will be crushed. Hence everyone has a place in the clan. Everyone has a job to do and with tenacity and will to survive they do their best.

Now a new caste of kobolds has been formed in the clan, the Talon. These select few work directly under the most powerful chieftains in the clan. Through their efforts the clan has started to rise to prominence once again...but how far can they rise? Or will they only end up falling all the further?

Few last points, yes this is a campaign for kobold PCs or slight variations thereof (dragonwrought/draconic templates have been created and may be used if applied for). The campaign is finite in length, though depending on PC actions it may go on for a year or more yet. As this is part of an actual persistent world there will be consequences for actions done and influences on the server as a whole. Roleplay is encouraged and rewarded.

Any interested I highly recommend taking a look at the forum section which contains all the information on the campaign so far including rumours, npcs, character building information, etc. With that said, the LotG forum section may be found here: jenshumate.com/wsibbs/viewforum.php

I'll happily answer any questions that people have as well. Those actually interested in taking part I do require a brief write up of the character, class, and basic information to be private messaged to me either here or on the forum listed above.

Thanks for listening and have fun! ''

Figured would give this one more shot here and see if any new lurkers were interested. Still have 2-3 slots open as the campaign is about to really hit the part where events will be happening very quickly and shape the world around it.

Please post this in the "Persistent Worlds and multiplayer" section. Don't expect the admins to move it. The NWN1 admins are pretty much asleep. It is up to all of us to keep this forum nice and tidy.

Just edit this post and make another new post in that other section please...

Edit: Well...seems everyone else is also posting stuff here that really belongs in the other section....*sigh*...its no point....carry on....

Besides...I do agree it is not really clear where such a post would go.

No, they're still looking for players, last I heard.   Enjoyed playing briefly, but work/sleep conflicts forced me to drop out.

Sorry SuperFly, really wasn't sure where it was supposed to go.

As Karvon says, we're still looking. Feel free to peek through the above links and if still interested feel free to join the WSI forums and we can get your character figured out and have you joining us fairly quick. '<img'>

People yell at me to use the Tavern when I post to PW, for things like this. So... looks like it doesn't much matter because whatever place you choose, someone will fuss over it being wrong. '<img'>

I wouldn't worry about it, frankly.  It's not like either forum is flooded with messages these days '<img'>
