« on: July 26, 2011, 09:43:08 pm »

               Hello all!

I found this info on the net, but Im not sure how I need to set them up in my router.

Got a netgear WGR614v7 router....

Ive tried to setup the ports in different ways but still cant get it to work. For example where do i find what outbound port that NWN uses and how exactly do I open it?

Please help me to open the ports i need to host a NWN 1 server

I found this info on the net, but Im not sure how I need to set them up in my router.
he NWN Read Me says

Ports 5120 through 5300

UDP, not TCP for its connections.
If you are wanting to make sure that your NAT is set up to allow the game

to play here are some details:
Outgoing packets: UDP

Source port: 5120-5129

Destination port: 5121-5300
Incoming packets: UDP

Source port: 5121-5300

Destination port: 5120-5129

According to the NWN Tech Help Forums

Ports 5120 through 5300

Port 6500

Port 27900

Port 28900

Read this. It is detailed instructions for your particular router and setting it up for Neverwinter Nights. It's just that easy!

Thanx, tried to use that site yesterday, but I couldnt load it. I have a few questions though:

The name on the service can be anything? Its not a specific name i should enter right?

Where there says Server IP Adress in the guide when adding Custom Services, how do i find that IP, or should i write the ip that's the guide is using: 192.168.0 , even though its not a complete IP adress?

ok i think i got it right....I used portforward's port check program and the port is open, still it says:

Ping Result: We were not able to ping your router.

Found something on the web about this, seems to make no difference if it can ping or not is that right?

I managed to open the ports now it seems, my friend logged on to my NWN server yesterday '<img'> Its online now for testing: 83.254.146.155:5121 is the IP

Module is Epic Nordock from Richtearms retreat, but has been updated by PatNiX. Though I have some issues with scripts causing TMI errors, so ive removed some areas and stuff for now, updating the module every day so it can soon be the Complete Epic Nordock PatNiX Module.
