Hey, true believers!
Not sure how else to start this post, so that'll have to do. I go by Laverna, and I'm here to tell to you about a server currently in development, a server we're currently calling Shadowrun NWN (Though it will probably have a snazzier name in the future!)
As you might guess from the name, our intent is to create a Persistent World based in the Shadowrun setting, Seattle in particular. We'll be using the d20 modern haks, most likely along with other custom content. For some of you, the setting will need no introduction, but for those of you who might not know; Shadowrun is a cyberpunk RPG, set in the year 2053. A global disaster has brought magic back to the world, along with elves, dwarves and even mythic dragons to roost among the Megacorporations of the world. In the high tech world of Shadowrun, everyone has an angle and nothing is ever what it seems.
Our goal with the setting is rather simple; We intend to bring an experience as close to the feeling of Shadowrun as physically possible, within the Neverwinter client. We're not trying to translate every mechanic to the very finest detail, so we're likely going to abstract some things where necessary. However, I think the server will be better for this; A sort of hybrid system, taking the best of the Shadowrun systems and setting and combining them with the best of NWN (and the things we can't change.)
Now that I hopefully have your interest piqued, I'm going to be completely blunt. We're not yet at the point where we can open the server up for players. That's the point of this post, honestly. We have a lovely coder, and a smashing area builder (Some of you may know Celvantis!) but we will need others. Coders in particular, at this point, though we're likely to need another good level designer. All help is welcome, however, even if you're just tossing us suggestions!
So if you have some skill with coding, or level design, or you're just interested in the server, drop into our IRC channel,
