Actually, it's possible to theorize why fire elementals can be killed with fire attacks. By definition, a fire elemental is an animate creature in a constant state of combustion. Combustion is achieved by the presence of a fuel (assumed to be a self-replenishing source, sometimes ectoplasmic in nature, present in the elemental), and an oxidant, ie the air around it. Thus, a fire elemental can theoretically be "damaged" by fire in a number of ways:
- The fire attack combusts the fuel source in the elemental faster than its natural replenishment rate
- The fire attack consumes and/or displaces, in the case of explosive attacks, oxygen in the immediate area around the elemental, thereby preventing combustion from taking place. This is similar to how a CO2-based fire extinguisher works
- The explosive or simply kinetic force of the fire attack causes direct damage to it
- The fire attack increases the overall temperature of the elemental, causing it to overheat.
I'm also of the belief that undead and constructs can be critted [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/tongue.png[/smilie]
Anyway, hi MM! I sent you a PM too.
