Edit: We are no longer looking for a server to merge with. Two years ago, I jumped into a toolset I didn't understand, with no instruction manual but a strong vision of what I wanted in a roleplaying world. I was just a kid then, still am, I suppose, but the server survives to this day in IGN's NWN2 PW Hall of Fame.
Obsidian Shore was meant to be a place where characters drove the plot, where their actions would change the setting forever, where good and evil forces were instead complex moral issues, where numerous factions struggled, and where there was always more to the setting than the characters knew. The server long since passed out of my hands, and into less busy ones, but I stuck around. The server meant a lot to me, and it had a dedicated community that played despite its tiny size. Even now, with the community splitting and many moving to GW, we're staying together. I'd like to invite you to become a part of that community.
I've proposed that we create a new server on NWN1, which has a larger playerbase, better toolset, less bugs, and is actually...you know, functional. Unfortunately not everyone can deal with last-gen graphics, so while we have a following ready to join when the server is created, our host and main scripter isn't jumping in.
I'd like to put out a call to gather general interest, and hopefully attract the attention of someone able to script or host. We're also willing to absorb into or be absorbed into any PW or PW-under-construction with similar roleplaying goals. We're an experienced staff and playerbase but putting a lot of work into something that might not have a scripter or host is something that worries me.
