disabling monkspeed - is it possible ?

Howdy folks.


​As it is now monks are disallowed on our server since the infernal speed is ruining our encounters. We are currently trying to disable it.


 


As such we have now tried setting the level to 99 in feats.2da but it still gets there at level 3.

 


I've also tried to simply alter the feat.2da so that entryline 207 ( monkspeed ) actually has the same values as weapon proficiency martial - to replace it. well you get the feat description allright but it is not working and you still effectively have the monkspeed.


​Anyone have managed to disable it with using merely standard nwn and CEP ( fx no nwncx )

You need to remove MonkAC from cls_feat_monk.2da so monks will never get it. But that will not alter already existing characters with monk speed (but I suppose thats not a problem for you).


 


I am more interested in your problem with encounters though. I never heard someone disabled monk for reason like that.

Where do i find this file. do you have a copy for download maybe ?


As for the problem it is that people simply activate triggers and move out to nice positions so fast mobs cant do anyhtign about it, and that monks can outrun anything always.

Yea, I design spawn encounters in a way that the monsters are exhausted in big advance.


 


This prevents the issue where very fast characters can move behind monsters without them being able to react as well as very annoying case where the monsters actually instantly attack on character who just stepped on spawn point "aka spawn into face type of spawn".
