The downloadable .chm version of the 1.69 lexicon is up on the new vault? I looked but can't find it there. I personally have it on my HD and can soon pop it into a 7z and upload it if it's not.

 

What I am thinking is that while we still get new people coming into these threads it would be nice to be able to point them to where they can get what I consider essential files for a beginning scripter. Such as the TK-LS script generator and the lexicon I mention above.

 

BTW while I am at it, would you add anything to that list as 2 things is an awfully short list?

Downloaded & installed the dump snapshot. Unfortunately the links don't work. I first tried it where I keep the rest of my NwN info. Because it didn't work there I tried it in the root directory of the HD. Still didn't work. This is with both Opera 12 and the very latest version of firefox. Both on Win7. For example clicking on "lyceum" returns the error message telling you that the file can't be found. This could be because the link contains an invalid (for windows) filename character - a colon - :.

hmmmm......  that's really unfortunate.  the html dump works just fine for me (well, except for a couple obvious cases where the link performs a wiki function) when running both on my local linux webserver and local linux box.

 

i used whatever mediawiki htmldump script extension they list, so i'm not sure if there will be a better one out there.  i'll look for something else that would better support windows.

well, for an inelegant solution, try this:

instead of using the actual file/article names, it replaces them with an md5 hash.  seems to work ok?

I don't care about the updates as much as not having to turn my mifi on, go to the index page, etc. I would much rather have a file that is say 98% accurate on my hd that I can get to by double clicking the short cut I made and as such consider it an essential download. Heck without it I doubt that I would have got into scripting at all when my only access to the internet was through hourly slots on the PC's at the local library.

@acomputerdood The links in the new version seem to work. I've only just downloaded and unpacked it. I gave it a quick 2 minute trial and all seems well. Thanks.

 

From what Proleric wrote it would appear that the chm version is not on the new vault. I'll give it another day and if no one says it is on there (with a link), it looks like I'll have to upload it myself.

If you do post an offline version, it would be helpful to include a link to the wiki, so that users know which is the latest.

 

P.S. I had a problem unpacking the hash - it put all of the files into one folder, instead of the subfolders which the links expect. Maybe an issue with my WinRAR settings?

must have been.  it's a straight up tar.gz, which preserves the file structure.  i would try using different settings?

 

i did link the downloadable package off of the main wiki page.  though i can't remember if i did the non-windows or the md5 hash version.
