Good Legacy Weapon Systems?
« on: November 27, 2011, 02:13:35 pm »

               I want to do something kind of fun for my module - a legacy weapon as a reward for beating the first "boss". The weapon will be suited to the primary class of the PC; and as the PC gains in levels, the weapon's power will increase.

I'm planning to use the OnLevelUp event to add permanent powers to the weapon, which the PC will be able to tailor through a dialogue. However, I'm not sure if this is the best way to do it. Therefore, I'm wondering if anyone knows of any legacy weapon systems I could look over for ideas / tips / guidelines?

               I saw levelling up weapons already on Dungeon Eternal X, they choose the unique power approach. Each time your character gained level, you used unique power and the weapon got better.

Here's a couple that look like they do what you're talking about...

RiffRaff's Leveling Weapons System
Ryuhi's Item Leveling System

There's another one I can't locate right now that uses a string to set the progression. I was looking at that one for rebuilding into my Blooded items. :-/

               <looking surprised...>

Ahhh! Choirmaster's Legacy Artifact System

From the description
The Legacy Artifact System was built for the Cold Shadows gameworld and is designed for creating new and exciting artifact-level items for modules and PWs. With this system a builder can design an item that will grow in power as the PC advances in level. Any combination of item properties that your module allows can be added at specified character levels by simply adding a coded string variable to an item.
