PW Traveling Merchant

               PW Traveling Merchant, Version 101:

I have put togeather a Module example of a persistant world stationary merchant and a traveling merchant.
The stationary merchant buys/sells goods then transfers items to traveling merchant which buys/sells goods.
Both are persistant using nwndb.

Working on settings allowing choice of nwndb or nwnxdb.
Working on settings on merchants.  Traveling merchant curently will only hold 1 of any item transfered from the stationary merchant.

Any sugestions on what might make for a nice traveling merchant etc. please let me know. 

I was prompted to do this for another person, and have been tinkering with it.  My hope is if others have it we togeather can work out any kinks and make more customizable for any who need.

I also have a custom item storage chest wich will be the default storage option rather then using persistant object.  Just another idea im tinkering with

               For a traveling merchant to appear to be traveling, maybe a wagon in the backdrop?

I have thought about a traveling merchant & figured the best way to handle these is to just give them a random inventory & let them sell good sold to them maybe?  Traveling merchants are peddlers more or less, they peddle goods for a profit..

It's tough to suggest to builders how to handle things, because every builder is different, some build for action, some for RP, some for Storyline...

If I was building for a storyline/rp module I'd probably go with the random thing...

If I was building for an action module I'd probably give them a set inventory with special items to give the PC's a reason to hunt down this mobile merchant...  =D

(Having a merchant travelling from town to town would be cool - of course he would have to be nuetral to all)

               This example of traveling merchant is adjustable, she wares a back back and hikes around( I like the Idea of a wagon).  She will help fight if Hostiles around, and Always finds you (like any good sales shark).  She randomly may appear in your area or not,  She may also appear in some areas and not in others [ depends on settings ]  Her inventory is DB and she sells 1 of any item she got from her sister stacey[ which is a perminate town merchant.] or 1 of any item players sell to her.

I think there are many possibletys, and willing to add stuff people think of.  I welcome your Ideas.

               I have something similar to this but not as well detailed as you have going on. More as he drops at certain city at various time. And those times depends on how the script decides it. As for what he sales I have place two types of shops at each location and when the player chats with him theirs a 50-50% chance either shop opens. He shops have exotic, High Level or even a bit stronger items then the regular merchants sells.
