A Scripting Riddle - Can You Solve It?
« Reply #60 on: June 28, 2011, 02:08:32 am »

So, it's not the PC and the Monster, but the Player and the Builder (since scripting is a builder skill and that is the form of the riddle). So, it's about people and why they play games. There are only three outcomes of any contest: Win, Lose or Draw. In this case, Draw is end of game, so it comes down to kill or be killed. Win or go home, though if the player goes home, there is no PC to compare to in the script.

The real question is what game entity would -hypothetically- launch this script (since it is not a real script after all)? Is it a PC spell? Is is a quest giver demanding only strong heroes? Is it a DM tool? Would it launch on some apocalyptic event?

Setting that aside, what this really does is measure the capability of the builder to create encounters that are challenging and balanced to the players. I guess that means the CBM is Challenging Builder Meter (or Measure)?

Yay for me!

So going on that I would have to determine that the 'Who' is the Creator, or the Builder so B in CBM must stand for Builder. The builder of the module is in control of setting the stats, the challange and the balance.

C and M
Creator?
Master?
Creator Builder Master?

Hmmm. Need more coffee. . .

NOTE: the winner of the general message cannot win twice, so guessing CBM for you would be kind of pointless.

Builder is correct in CBM, but you do not have C & M correct, and I cannot tell you more or I'd give C & M away...

CBM is by far the hardest part to solve (everyone will more or less need to guess it & think HARD to solve it!)

Now that you know the general message is more about the builder than the PC or the Monsters, though the PC is the main interest in the script, e.g. if there are no players, then you fail....  <<< note this, as it is tied to C & M.

==================================================

I'm going to disclose the reward...

I made a special module which includes mutliple special designed systems all integrated to give a builder greater control over a unique Treasure Systems (multiple), it includes 3 special treasure systems as well, though only one is available to the general public (The Genisys Enchanting Gem System), A Final Boss Treasure System, and a General Main Boss Treasure System (for Difficult / High level bosses only)...

It also includes two item template system(s) & a scriptset for both template system(s), this uinque Item Template system affords the builder the ultimate control over all items & plot items (again 2 separate system) in the module, it prevents cheating / exploits, and can even prevent PCs from picking other PC's pockets, and even much more!  Another part of the the Item Template systems is a 2 fold special item template (premade) Legendary & Artifact items systems (complete systems that were released to the community a long time ago, but is no-long available for download.)  These systems, the module, and all of the work combined in this entire reward is over 2 months of intense work by me, so you can rest assured it's quality & very special indeed!

The other part of the reward is 2 fold, The winner(s) (2), get any customizations they want to the treasure systems &/or template systems within the module tailored to their desires.  The winner may also have any custom system that I am able to create, e.g. I will create a special custom system specfically for this builder alone, and none other.

The System(s) & Module(s) will only be available to the winners, myself, and one of my friends and will never be handed out to the community.  (Winners are not allowed to share the content either, sorry.)

Again you must message me to recieve the final reward.

Now that your work is revealed, would you explain why you used the word "riddle" ?

I am positive you meant to say "riddle", because it has been repeated ad nauseum over the whole thread, and you have had two long months to change your mind.
Which you have not done. So it must be a riddle.

I failed to perceive any riddle in your opening post.
But I am not fond of riddles to begin.
So I waited for the solution.
But even now that your have explained the solution, I continue to fail to see any riddle in your opening post.

So I ask: where is the riddle? what makes it a riddle? why your solution solves this "riddle"?

ph34r my 1337 ski11z? Nay.
Yet the fellow f39e1e bigendian did post a razor-sharp comment. So sharp it slipped unnoticed, sapiently mixed among other harmless elucubrations. Having fallen out of scope by now only helped to hide it better.
I will not quote him -- so I stay politically correct.
But the more I read it [...]
