NWN1 Ruins Tileset
« on: June 06, 2015, 01:10:10 pm »

Hi all

I looking around of the vault for a nice ruins tileset and I was unable to find one. I was however able to find one for NWN2 and I couldn't help but look at the following screenshots and think it would be nice if NWN1 had a ruins tileset something like this.

With the module I am making I could really use a taleset like this. Well to tell the truth I could even make placeables work. Well any way if NWN1 does have something like this already then I just couldn't find it.

There is single castle ruin in one tileset.. it was from either diablo or temple of elemental evil.

Otherwise the placeables are the way to go.

Check also marsh tileset - features some nice ruins.

nothing like that was ever done for nwn. The only thing i would do is to create a new tileset with either dla castle tiles -retextured or fort interior retextured like it would be an outdoor set. I did that lost it but it was good looking!

Converting NWN 2 placeables to NWN 1 is super easy. If you got NWN 1 and 2 and the authors permission I can show you how you can convert those placeables yourself.

Thanks " Zwerkules "

I would love to take you up on that. I do have a lot of things going on in real life and a friend of mine and I just started trying to make a module , when we have some free time now and then.

That said if there is a step by step video or something that could walk me through it, I would give it a shot and see if I could do it.

I would also need a list of the tools needed to do it and where I could get them.

Arent nwn2 models not the same size in 3dsmax as our mdls. If yes it´s realy just having a temp plc. with all dummies importing the nwn2 model linking the mesh copy/paste trimesh properties and export. Having a 3dsmax file saved -placeholder plc with just a damage box on no-render at XYZ 0 is a must have anyway '<img'>

I scale the parts down by x0.9 when I port from NWN mdl files to NWN2 mdb; the reverse would be to scale up by x1.11111..... (or just x1.1 is probably good enough).
