Would it be possible...
« on: November 27, 2014, 02:24:13 am »

Would it be possible to make a placeable of rain using emitters? Say, like the water placeable, you made a tile square of just rain falling to the ground? I don't understand emitters yet, or how weather effects are achieved in NWN so please allow for my ignorance. But if that is possible, I would like to try and make such a thing.

EDIT: Turkeys just migrated this

The answer is yes. But the details are many.

Basically you need a single emitter, set its emission field size to the size you need, and pick a rate of emission for a chosen particle appearance. Like with snow emitters, you can choose to have it splat, or simply fall through everything. Basically you have a million options at that point. It could fall forcefully, or soft, or to the sidelike, such as good Scottish rain should be. It could be affected by wind, or not. If you want it to appear real, it needs to have a velocity, so it seems like it has already been falling for a mile.

It's all values in the emitter object.
