Class I've been waiting on..
« on: September 28, 2014, 10:04:16 pm »

I asked the PRC back in 2008 about getting the Stalwart/Battle Sorcerer variants or a combined version. The request was blocked because the leader of the PRC disliked UA content and the PRC was moving on to Dragon Age. Any chance anyone has made this base class since then? Oooor is willing to? Easy to just modify the Sorcerer a little under a different name..

Spell points would probably be too difficult..

And I have a few spells in mind.. if anyone is up to it.

Why not try to tackle this yourself, and ask questions of the forum when you get stuck?

I think I good approach is to create a thread on the subject, and provide updates of your progress periodically when you want to show off something you solved or ask for help on a particular problem.

Because I don't even have a vague clue what I'm doing. I'll mess with a 2da editor and see what happens

Well everyone has to start from somewhere so thats no excuse at all.

You do however have the right idea as to where to start. Check out classes.2da thats where all the classes are defined. Yu basically have a choice here: (1) you can edit the sorcerer class to be this new class or (2) you can add a new class but this will behave as a prestige class. So look at the other prestige classes to get a feel for how those work (spells implemented as feats usually although some add on to an existing spell casting class)

I have it mostly working as a sorcerer replacement.. Won't let me equip light armor even though I have the feat for it. Wanted to set it as a PRC and just use the character creator v1.8, but it calls my files corrupt when I get to class selection. Something must truly be off though, since it's only showing the base races.

Spell and feat tables seem to be working fine though.

Actually, Feat issue.. the Light Armor and Martial Weapon feats granted at Lv 1 aren't working. They're there, but.. not working. Constantly have the -4 to attack like I'm improficient. Haven't tried light armor yet because I don't know yet how to get rid of ASF for light armor.. I need to look at Hexblade. Also my damage looks like my 2H weapon is equipped 1-handed.

Any ideas out there?

sounds like you have the prc installed while you are working on your class.

I recommend that you work on this class in a module without the PRC installed. it will simplify things. otherwise you'll be running into issues and not know the source. it could be prc, could be the engine, could be a mistake you made. much better for you will be to narrow the options and keep things simple.

Figured out the weapon and armor proficiencies, but haven't gotten the ASF fixed.
