Next time check the little box that says save in compatibility mode (or whatever it actually says, the checkbox is there though) when saving a picture with alpha in pshop '' .

When saving a .tga, the only thing I see is compression and bits. Am I missing something? Anyway, after a good night's rest I can safely go back to working on the wings, and hopefully not run into anymore silly issues, because from here on out the wings shouldn't be hard to do.

My version of Photoshop only gives me a bits option. For NWN, I use 24-bit for anything that will be solid with no transparency or reflection, and 32-bit for other images/textures (the extra 8 bits holds the alpha channel).  I'd say go for no compression, so your texture(s) can later be turned into .dds versions.

Yeah, I wasn't doing any compression with Photoshop. But you did remind me to fix something which just made it run a tiny bit smoother. Also concerning .DDS textures, would it be beneficial (or possible) to turn an emitter's texture into a .DDS? Or would that somehow cause some weird glitchy behavior in how the texture displays?

It's time for me to take a little break, but I got the techno-magic wings to a suitable state for displaying here. Still highly unfinished. They look Tronesque, just a tad, but I promise that won't last once I jump to work again.

I am considering adding some crystals, runic symbols, or just some shiny emitters in place of the glowy bits you see. My plan is just to give it a much more techno-magic look, and not just techy.  '' Hope you like what becomes of it so far.

Well, it's been a bit and I've made a lot of progress with the technomagic wings. I am not quite done but I felt I hit another milestone, and thus hit a point I could show off yet again, like last time. I am going to be making a lighter, cooler variant (more fitting with the original concept) once I finish animations all the way. The current is a more warm, darker, rustic set of wings.

So here it is, gauging for flight!~

Woosh~ I may make some changes to the string along the top, if I figure out how, but otherwise it's staying as is, so it seems. It changes from orange to yellow, but that isn't really shown off well considering it's a still image.  '<img'> Also I know it doesn't look capable of flight in the slightest, and I have a perfectly logical explanation for that....

........MAGIC!~  ''

Woah.

ia.Pepper, those wings are superb. Much different than what came to mind when you first mentioned technomagic wings.

Heheh, thanks. I originally planned on doing a tail + spine augment type model as well, but I have clearly run out of time for such. A shame how real life sometimes rears its booty and causes delays.

Glad people like it though, I've been scrutinizing it because things haven't been going well through the development of the technomagic wings, and I keep thinking it could be so much better. Just being a harsh critic, I suppose.  '<img'>

Now is time for me to work my butt off to finish, I'm thinking by tomorrow or day after I should be finished, if all goes according to plan.

I like it! Peculiar though, is the black beam intentional?

On another note, because I am about to go to bed I figure I might as well just post about this here. I am done animating my technomagic wings, I think. Applying a skin to part of the model was incredibly simple I found out. It doesn't have a full animation set, because seeing as they are mechanical additions to the body and not organic wings, I couldn't bring myself to give them too much of a lively nature. Similar to how I don't like how the NWN golems sort of have a 'breathing' animation which to me makes no sense.

But they do have a decent little pack of animations that gives them some movement and SOME life to them. Just what I thought was necessary or would be neat. Along with sitting and such, (among a small number of other "needed" animations), I did do one for death, where all the emitters either dim incredibly or turn off, and the wings give occasional twitches, as if just slightly still functional, despite the wearer being quite dead.  '<img'>

I was however disappointed to find out one animation I really wanted to do, didn't seem to be supported by wings. When I tried to test it, it just refused to play.  '' Then after that I became afraid that other animations I would do would become pointless and refuse to play out as well!

this is what I sent to Yollo:

and the AI works like this:

- if it has any auras/healing/boosts it will be able to use them first

- after that it fires the beholder attacks which are modified for this creature in this way

1) 1/6 chance to trigger deafning sonic damage shout, damage = d4(HD), DC = 14+int (this ability will not be possible to use for another 3 rounds after use)

2) if the sonic shout is not used it uses all three monster nodes, node0= petrify ray(black) (temporary for 1-3rounds(diff related), dc 16+int), node1=cold ray (damage d6(HD), DC 16+int, possible critical hit) node2=eletric ray (damage d8(HD), DC 16+int, possible critical hit) with the speciality of rotating the nodes, aka first round the petrify is fired from monster_node_2, next round from monster_node_0, next from _1 and so on.

3) in case of multiple attackers, the rays will be distributed amongs them

Some more ideas: though about changing the petrify to turning in case of undead/MD in case of sorc/wizard/holy dmg in case of turned undead, but not sure if Im not overcomplicating this '<img'>
